I don't usually do things like this, but I figured I could keep a record of our weekly goings on and thoughts on tanking crap with this thing.

So for this past week we raided on wednesday/thursday clearing out all hardmodes and other trash up to Mimiron in prep for killing it, then killed it on sunday night. normally i wouldn't be in for it, but since we were missing some dps i stepped in towards the end as a dps and we smoked the shit outta em. good times . gave algalon a shot on monday, then finished up vezax hardmode and yogg normal. will have to do drakes next week. killed algalon on 10man on monday as well.

So tanking thoughts - we're regearing myself for DPS with a secondary tanking role. As in, if a fight requires a DK for some gimmick, I can step in, otherwise I'm in a fulltime DPS role for 3.2. We began gearing our two ferals more toward tanking this week, and our prot warrior is continuing to gear himself. We have a geared alt prot paladin as well who tanks our alt ulduar raids, so that's an available option as well.

It's unfortunate, but after doing some number crunching, it appears i'm going to lose almost 5k hp raid buffed, which will actually put me on par with the warrior assuming i'm blood. I'll have less than him as frost or unholy, and he will have slightly less armor than myself. Our feral with the appropriate pvp pieces is going to have almost 10k more hp raid buffed than either of us, with almost 3k more armor, and 2% less avoidance than me, and of course I'll be short one full cooldown per rotation comparitive to either class, so ultimately I don't see me being able to preform at the levels potentially required for the next set of challenging content. Will have to keep an eye on what changes actually go in, but needless to say, if it goes in as is, it'll be pretty devestating to the top end of tanking for dk's.

No. Deathknights cried last time they were nerfed and are still at the top. You will be fine, just adapt and learn to play a little differently.

If something is changed, you can't just plow right along doing the same thing and expect it to work out.
