We had a fun night Monday night.

1-shotted Auriaya which was a hectic but fun fight.

We then spent some time clearing trash to mimiron, since our OT mentioned that this was what tankspot recommended for progression.

We went there, and watched lores vid of it. Took one stab at him and decided Freya was better. We had much fun on the robots though. :-D It's quite cool to ride a robot for a few mins.

I think, overall that the robots actually saved our raid night cause we had so much fun with them.

So we cleared Freya's room, our herbalists died a couple of times to a body pull of Freya ("OOOOOH FROST LOTUSES!").

Anyway we cleared the room and took 3 tries at Freya, and I am sure she will go down next lockout period - she is an interesting, but hectic fight.

Kologarn and Iron council down

Yey, had a good night in Ulduar. Only 2 bosses down, we had 3-4 tries on Iron Council, then I decided that I was better suited for add-tanking, and the OT better suited for Steelbreaker. Situational awareness and all that.

In general I have found Ulduar to be much more demanding on the offtank, a lot of movement, a lot of spatial awareness. Offtanking on most encounters in Ulduar (that I have tried) actually demands more from the offtank, than from the main tank.

Anyway, we proceeded to kill Iron Council first time we got Steelbreaker down - I'm not exactly sure on how to deal with the tendrils, but experimentation will have to cover that.

Then we went on to Kologarn and twoshotted him - a much easier fight than steelbreaker.

We had a couple of half-hearted tries on Auriaya, then I called it. All in all a good 2½ hours of good fun.

A new problem arose - a guildies warrior alt was caught spamming recruitment spams, I think it is about time for him to chose which guild he wants to carry on in.

Remember the positive attitude

On my last post, everything had taken a turn for the worse - and even Vene was bonking me on the noggin, for having an overly negative attitude.

This lockout, I started with a positive attitude, and even though we had some wipes, my positive attittude somehow affected the raid as a whole.

People were on time, we downed the first 4 bosses, only problems was on ignis (new MT) - however he got down, and everything was good.

After that we had two wipes on Iron council, it was getting late so i decided to call it so we could start fresh on them sunday.

Remember that, raid and guild leaders. Bring the positive attitude, make some fun - for most guilds, this will motivate players a great deal.

However, you have to be prepared. Unicorns, world peace and happiness wont down a boss alone.

And remember Al Pacino's speech in "Any given sunday".

You find out that life is just a game of inches.
So is football.
Because in either game,
life or football,
the margin for error is so small.
I mean,
one half step too late or to early,
you don't quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast,
and you don't quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in ever break of the game
every minute, every second.

Grab those inches for yourself and your guild, and have a nice raiding weekend.

Rule #1: It always takes a turn for the worse.

So, we went off to Ulduar, for some reason 4 of our signup decided not to show up, so we had to roll with pugs. 3 had forgotten it was the last day of school (how on earth you can forget that is beyond me). And one had to save his brother in a kite-surfing related accident.

We ended up 2-shotting all bosses in the antechamber, I got some bracers, and most loot went to the guild.

The raid setup was far from optimal, and even with vent, it seemed like our puggers weren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

How can a spoken and written direction to dps the hearth for 5 seconds, then turn to adds be misunderstood?

How can you sit and drink in the fire at Razorscale.. Urgh.

Oh well, I'd better look on it from a positve perspective, we got 4 bosses down in a somewhat timely fashion and even though it was a horrible raid while we were on it, we did get them down and got teh lootz.

At least we got some laughs on XT-002 Deconstructor when someone compared him to a former raid leader, well known for his bad temper. :-D

More drama = less win.

So, since this is my first blog post, maybe I should introduce myself.

Before i rolled my warrior, I played a Rogue in a very casual guild, which i eventually left, sometime doring TBC. I grabbed a couple of people, and started a guild, focusing on 10-man content.

Now, I lead a 10-man guild, that raids 3-4 times a week. I think I'd put us in the serious casual box, if anyone asked. Currently we are delving into 25-man raids, simply because we found that it eases out the progression curve from naxx-10 to ulduar-10.

This of course meant that we had to establish a second raid group, with all the drama that followed. Healers wanting to progress didnt want to raid naxx-10 anymore, naxx-25 raids was suddenly off the pug list, and all of a sudden, the people appointed as rg2 raid leaders turned out to be selfish, ill-tempered and greedy.

Yey.

Drama ensues. Ends up with RG2 leaders leaving the guild. And it got me thinking - problems in a guild need to be dealt with swiftly, or they will tear the guild apart.

I should have kicked at least one of them, the second the signs started showing. But I wanted more, I tasted the sweet sweet nectar of 25-man loot, and envious "omg nice gear" tells.

Fortunately it seems that most of our raiders will stay, and we can continue on, with more competent leaders for the second group.

Currently we are 4/14 in ulduar, which i think is fairly ok. Hell, we are just a bunch of guys with a jobs and girlfriends, that want to experience the end game raiding.

Tonight we are off to Ulduar again. I choose you, Steelbreaker.
