I can see my boots!

My brother and I recently started some characters Alliance-side on our server using Recruit-a-friend. Initially it was to escape the boredom of looking for groups, dailies, and searching for a guild that actually raids after 6PM MST (PST server in Seattle, wouldn't think it would be that hard....).
We fired up the character creation screens on Friday night, and with just a hair over 1 day /played we are in our 40s.. all four of us.. err both of us.
Alliance is different, I realize it varies greatly from server to server. For one thing the Auction House is overflowing with nearly anything you can think of, this is not common Horde-side on PVE servers, quite the opposite. Interesting though, the prices are rape. People charging 25g for a 10-stack of small eggs? We figure if we only sell, and only rarely buy this is the fast track to money.
Back on the recruit-a-friend thing. Until you are knocking out 10 levels a day, and three sessions going from level 1 to buying a mount you don't realize how much gold you actually spend on training in this game. It's not small task to generate 20-30g a day as a lowbie, and getting between eight and ten levels a session easily chews through half of it on training alone.
I have a Human Paladin and Warrior now that will probably be raid-ready in a month or so. I'm actually tempted to just go for it, go hard for gear, and get raiding on Alliance side.
Oh and I can see my boots! :P

The small eggs and such are so expensive right now because it's Winter Veil time, and you need them to make Gingerbread Cookies for a quest. After Winter Veil's over, things will calm down economy-wise.Posted 12-18-2008 at 10:30 AM by Theomach

Good to hear recruit a friend is working, had sounded like wotlk broke it.
3.08 will allow DKs any server - you might try that for an alt with quicker cash access.
And yeah usually when an AH price is way out of wack, its a seasonal/special situation.Posted 12-18-2008 at 12:51 PM by CKaz
