Raiding with other guilds

I am so frustrated from this past weekend.
So.. our guild has made friends with another guild on our server that is progressed beyond us. They seem to have problems with completely filling their 25-mans, so after pugging us in a couple times before, they have come to rely on us. I even maintank'd Gruul and Mag for them in the past few weeks. For my guild, I have told everyone that they are welcome to go if they wish, though I prefer they coordinate it through me to make things easier. Would hate to see a brand new 70 or one that hasn't ever raided before go into their raid and wipe it, you know?
So... it had been going fairly well. This weekend we wanted to run two ZA groups. With a full guild group, we have successfully downed 3 bosses before. But we didn't get enough sign-ups, so we asked that the friendly guild pug into ours. Only fair in my opinion, seeing as how their raids might not of happened or could have went badly if not for us filling in. Their guild leader agreed.
Apparently, the people from their guild were under the impression that these ZA runs were "farm" runs or something. They were all together in one group, as they had asked to be. We didn't get all of our sign-ups to show, so we had to pug in a tank (one that was a good friend and had done ZA before). Things went very badly.
The other guilds members came into our ZA run. Something happened where one too many DPS were brought in, not enough healers. When asked if someone could bow out, none volunteered, so one of my guildies dropped. Then throughout the entire run (which failed horribly on every boss they tried), they harrassed our members or the friendly tank.
"You can't tank ZA without 20k health." "Why are we using a pally tank for the gauntlet?"
All sorts of fairly rude comments were made. I of course was quite pissed off by this. When we are pugged into their raids, we remain quiet, only offering comments if we know something about a specific fight or something that could help succeed. Their raids can take 30+ minutes *after* we are invited to even get people zoned into the instance. Our raids are never more then 15 minutes past start time, barring extreme circumstances.
So now many of those who were in the ZA run with the other guild do not want to run with that guild, understandably so. I've told their GM that we will continue to accept offers to come to their raids, but I do not forsee them coming to ours.
The only issue is... we don't have 25 regulars that are truly geared enough. I had sort of expected to start pushing to do our own 25-mans, with pulling from their guild just as they have ours. Now... I'm lost.
What would you do?

I have yet to see guild mergers or co raids ever succeed over time. Loot, responsibility, or attitudes always get things ugly, then guild members end up swapping from one to the other, and all hell breaks loose. Recruit or relax, those are really your only two choices

tatt Im actually thanking god we merged with the guild we used to Co Raid TK with way back when. Looking at my raid team now half of our core come from them. There was drama/gquits but the ones who were serious about raiding are still around and doing well.
Guild mergers are risky. I pushed it off for a long time but in the end if worked out for the better. but thats just one example.
ZA is a 10 man. You would figure they may speak there mind if they are used to farming the place. do they usually full clear?Posted 07-16-2008 at 07:46 AM by hbombs

"Helping" a more advance guild is just a recepie for losing your best raiders. If your progress halts or they find they need your members you may well find them apping to the advanced guild.

Sadly, not a typo. Don't know who actually said this comment as it was said over vent, but it was just plain ridiculous.Quote:Typo? Paladin tanks are great for the gauntlet. Put us upfront on the two elites and all the birds. Your offtank can grab the two adds coming from the back.
Whats funny is that their guild does *not* have ZA on farm. According to their guild leader, they rarely do it. So I'm not sure why this was such a huge issue but apparently it was.Quote:You would figure they may speak there mind if they are used to farming the place. do they usually full clear?
I would agree... but the good part is that for the most part everyone in our guild loves it here. We are all adults that are pretty laid back but we don't tolerate the usual "teenage" behavior that you see in WoW. Their guild does. So the likelihood of losing people to them... is slim.Quote:"Helping" a more advance guild is just a recepie for losing your best raiders.
