No, not as a tank. I'm quite awesome, tyvm. But of late, I've been raiding 10 man content on my DK as frost DPS and frankly, I'm not happy with my output.

Last night was a good raid despite having two subs, both excellent player but both on their woefully undergeared alts. I had to bait them into coming and their mains need nothing from Ulduar 10, so.....and the warlock (alt of fury warrior) wearing blues, a few crafted lvl 80 epics and some lvl 70 epics wasn't too far behind me.

My gear is pretty good, all lvl 80 epics but I'm desperately trying to swap stats to shed hit and haste for more STR/AP. This will change when 3.2 hits and I swap to DW frost but who knows how long that will be yet.

I think part of my problem is that I try to play him like my tank and just substitute the skills into the same button mashing sequence. I don't know, I feel like I am hitting everything right but its just not coming out correctly.

Keep up plague strike and frost fever-> build runic power-> unload frost strikes when able. I try to use Oblit and HB to stack up my blue bar then go ape. I crit ALOT too.

Over all, I came in at 2900 DPS last night. I don't know about individual bosses, I didn't look at it much. I must be missing something, maybe its gear. When 3.2 hits, I will see an upgrade because I picked up alot of gear suited best for a TG warrior because its the best I can get or will drop for me. I'm set on main hand(Razorscale Talon), I just need to get a better off hand.....looking like Stoneguard at the moment, lol. Iron Council and the RNG can diaf.

I dunno....I'm the kind of player that must be on top, be the best or close to it. To not be annoys me. They don't give out ribbons for being in position and not dying to stupid crap.

/sigh.....

I've been playing a little shaman and little rogue a ton the past week. Rogue is 30 and the shammy is 42. I am enjoying the crap out of both of them, to be honest. I hardly touch my druid anymore and not that I ever played my hunter much......

DPS means nothing without context. DPS in particular is only significant on individual bosses.

Maybe it's your rotation. Before 3.0 my warrior tank did decent DPS using a mixture of heroic and badge DPS gear and mostly spamming devastate.

Since Wrath I picked up fury and TG and my DPS is again just decent. It didn't become very good. I tried to put the buttons where they should result in the same mashing sequence and found the priority system too different for this to work.

You're hitting the sweet spot for shaman. The 40s are the best time to play a shaman...I was semi-powerleveled on my shaman from ~20 to ~35 and was leery of bothering with the rest...until I hit 40 and it was like a whole new class that was full of AWESOME.

Of course, the payoff at 70 was fun in pve, but meh in pvp. And so far I'm still liking it at 80, despite it being quite frustrating at times.

    GO SHAMAN!

Shaman rule, H. I played a hunter to level 62 and was bored to tears. Tried a shaman for "something different", and from the time I dinged 41 to the time I dinged 70, it took me about 3 days. And (until I made my DK) I had NEVER had more fun playing a toon. DW/SS/WF proc ftw!! There was some sort of magic watching the mobs' health just peel down.

As for DK DPS, last I had checked, your "rotation" should be a 2-part... PS, IT, BS, BS, Oblit, FS to dump RP... BS, BS, Oblit, Oblit, FS to dump RP. Rinse and repeat. I try to save HB for KM procs. If you don't have KM, get it. lol. I may not be entirely current on that because I prefer to tank, but it's something along those lines.

Frost DPS? thats your issue. go unholy untill you gear up a bit. when you get a weapon with high top end dmg, and start getting some better stats, go blood.

Well, supposedly, DW Frost will be the way to go in 3.2 so I'm holding out for that. I'm stubborn.....frost is a great farming spec....gather up some mobs, spread diseases and carpet bomb them with HB. That was the character's original purpose, just to farm a bunch. I don't want to change.....stubborn, heh.

Fortunately, he's not my main raider. I'm still 'above the curve' in my 10 man raid, I just wish I did more.

DW frost will be the way to go if you intend to DW. Blood and Unholy would be the options for 2h dps.

As far as the overall numbers go I wouldn't say 2.9k dps is that bad really. It might be worth noting some of your boss dps numbers though, as thats really where you'll see yourself stacked up damage wise against other people.

Also as far as the weapons go in 3.2 you might want to go slow/slow instead of slow/fast dps wise.

Basically, you won't see good dps as frost until you get the sigil from 25 man, you probably should be also not waiting for full rp to unleash FS's but wait until a KM proc then use one, obliterate/refresh diseases until then.
