"Forewarned, forearmed; to be prepared is half the victory."

Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, penned this epic phrase in the 1600's. It reminds me of the phrase on the Burning Crusade trailer... where Illidan Stormrage declares "You are not prepared!"

As a "casual" tank who has been in the protection business from the UBRS/MC days all the way to tier 6 content now, sites like tankspot have helped me go from being a noob tank OT'ing MC and UBRS to being able to MT bosses in MH and BT.

I've learned a ton from knowledgeable tanks such as Cider, Vene, Satrina and others, and though my RL schedule has prohibited me from getting in on the more "hardcore" side of the raiding community, I am part of an awesome guild that is great at maintaining a "casual" atmosphere while getting in on tier 6 level content.

Hopefully through this blog I'll be able to share some insights from my experiences as a "casual" tier 6 raider.

So, I'm not a JC'er or a BS'er... which makes it a little harder to hit "passive unhittable." I'm pretty close though, just under 100% (out of the needed 102.4%).

I updated my passive unhittable gear listing, haven't updated the gear guide yet but you can see the updated list here on my blog.

Shield Block does not make you unhittable, you still take damage through Blocks.

The guide Clearly states that you still take damage etc but (iirc) unless tyhe hit is mre than 3000 damage you wont take damage.

the term "passive unhittable" is tossed around here sometimes... it means that without shieldblock up, you will block / dodge / miss / parry every attack. like I state in a couple places, and like necro pointed out it's not that you're invulnerable, it just means you'll block any physical damage attack that's lower than your block value.

it is a little misleading at first

Unhittable has nothing to do with taking damage or not. It is simply pushing hit off of the hit table, as state above, leaving only Miss/Dodge/Parry/Block on the hit table.

well.... it kinda is about not taking damage, but that's the catch--there are qualifiers. Such as it has to be physical damage, and it has to be less than your block value in order for you to completely mitigate it.

Not physical damage strictly; elemental melee attacks have become blockable somewhere along the way into WotLK.

Good luck getting the last few percentages!

Would "Fully Mitigative" work? Or just be too much highbrow jargon?
