In Gruul's Lair

I signed up for a semi-open Gruul's Lair run by the guild I've app-ed to. We wiped several times at Maulgar due to some positioning and tanksplat mishaps, but eventually got him down. I was assigned to tank Blindeye.
My gf who plays a priest told me that he hits like a kitten. To me, a raid mob hitting like a kitten means Curator.
I got a Misdirect off the bat to help ramp up aggro. What I *didn't* anticipate was after Bloodrage... I ran completely out of rage. I stared at the whole bank of aggro generation tools, all grayed out and watched the DPSers race up Omen, all the while spamming my Devastate key like it was going to give me more rage. I had already left out shield block and by the the lead DPS, a hunter, passed my threat, I was contemplating /sit. He pulled aggro, I chased and taunted it back, and he pulled again seconds later. Aich... >.<
The other two tanks present were a druid and a paladin, so I was assigned to keep up Tclap and Demo Shout. Due to having only 2/5 Imp Demo, they laid off the CoR.
I did get the Aldori Legacy Defender from the run, which was an EH upgrade and a hit rating upgrade, although my much battered Block Value took another hit.

 |  Tank naked, I'm sure your girlfriend would get a kick out of that. Seriously, put on more threat gear like +hit and sbv or 3-4 pieces of dps gear like ap and crit and see what happens next time with your rage. Kez |

| | the last time I tanked him, I dual wielded in tank gear/defensive stance... the time before that I wore DPS gear and put on a shield and stayed in defensive stance. He does hit amazingly weak... in my full DPS gear with like almost no crit reduction I think the biggest he hit me for was 3200 |

| | Yeah, I was in my block gear, at 671 block value. I'll toss on a few Armor Pen pieces if I tank him again. Or I'll /sit early on.  |

| |  Honestly? In berserker stance I tank him as 17/44/0 in dps gear & I don't have a problem holding him. Berserker Rage is handy, and having pummel is great since you don't have a shield to bash with. Dual wield is the only way that I can make enough rage to keep him on me. Instead of using sunder armor (or Devistate for you real tanks) I just spammed Heroic strike. I actually used my execute weapons (I have a fast set I use for more smooth rage gen in execute range) so that the HS's would go off faster. Some of the dps were starting to catch up to me when I realized I had Salv on, once I took that off it was fine. The trick with it is, start as soon as you can, and just plain don't hold back. I used my AP boost trinkets right off the bat to try to get a lead. |
