Deathknights and Changes.

Everybody and their grandma is now talking about Deathknight changes (I dislike the word "nerf" because it seems to imply to me that they cannot do the job anymore, and also seems to start fights). Well, now I'm talking about the changes too.
Right now, I am frustrated with DKs right now because I feel their tanking is overpowered. They're just better. They have Shield Wall (not quite as good, but good enough to survive anything) on a 1 minute cooldown... guess who's tanking Vezax? Not me, our best geared tank. Well, I may be the best geared, but the DK still has more HP than I do. More Armor as well. Oh, and more avoidance.
Guess I'm not the best geared after all. Or the best person for the job.
It's just annoying to me like this, because I can do the job just fine. I can take hits, I can put out more tons more threat than our DPS (IMO they need to step it up), but the DK just does it better, with worse gear.
No, it's not a skill factor. Yes, I've read every guide to do with tanking or Warriors on Tankspot.

By the same logic, I should be bitter that I can't MT Auriaya as I can't deal with the fears. QQ.
We can argue all the differences, but it ignores Blizzard's efforts to rebalance tanking the 3.2 patch. The Devs have made it clear they want a better balance (look at the Paladin buffs, for example), so I'm content to give them a shot. I'll personally see on PTR how it all works.Posted 06-24-2009 at 09:40 AM by Esch

A "nerf" does not imply that one will not be able to do their job anymore, it just means that they won't be able to do it as well as they were doing it before.
Make no mistake, DK's are indeed getting nerfed. It is a nerf that is needed. I don't agree to the extent to which DK's are being nerfed, but I definitely agree that we needed to be toned down.
MTing has nothing to do with class but instead has everything to do with demeanor, confidence and skill. While DK's may be the choice for guilds starting off on General that choose to stay and play during his http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=62662, Warriors and Druids can also do the same by rotating cooldowns.
Blizzard intent is for guilds to "bring the player, not the class," and I believe they are doing a decent job with that. Pallies are finally getting the CD's they need to play with the big boys.Posted 06-24-2009 at 12:21 PM by Inaara

DK's can deal with fears, no problem. Fear Ward and Tremor Totems, as well as thier own Lichborn (and Every Man For Himself if you're a Human).
Really, that's a very minor thing. Compared to not being able to survive certain abilities without massive support from your raid with cooldowns, kiting, tank switches...
I'm glad nerfs are coming. Very glad.Posted 06-24-2009 at 04:12 PM by Durandro

A Warrior cannot rotate cooldowns to survive Vezax. Using 2 Glyphs and 2 talents I can, but Last Stand doesn't really do it.
Deathknights can do the same thing without any Glyphs (I use the talents anyways, just there to prove a point).
Nerf is a negative word that can start arguments, I simply avoid it when possible.Posted 06-24-2009 at 08:10 PM by Ferag
