Tough Trash
Posted 04-16-2009 at 07:44 PM by Ferag
On Tuesday night when the servers were finally up, my guild tossed together 10 people to check out Ulduar. We downed the FL with no problem, one shot him all the way, shockingly easy. We are going for Ingis, can't get past the colossi in front of his room.
Damn.
Wednesday night, go for the Deconstructor. After about 4 wipes we DPS the heart and he goes down. Trash in front of Ingis still immovable for us.
Tonight, we tried the trash after Deconstructor. Locked out again! Can't even clear one group of it.
What is wrong with us? We have minimal trouble with bosses and can't do trash to save our lives (or those of our characters
)
Ah well, at least it is a fun instance. The corpse run got boring after a while though.

The fire elementals seems more annoying than the giants.Posted 04-16-2009 at 10:42 PM by Ezmode

my group stacked up. have 2 tanks hold aggro on each and everyone stand on top of each other. that was the only way we could get past them.Posted 04-16-2009 at 11:40 PM by multiplayer

trash mobs are a new challenge for all of us. ppl were complaining of naxx trash being too easy.... love the challenge though. Makes you think morePosted 04-17-2009 at 10:06 AM by Malygor

You make Ulduar bosses sound easy. Are you all 25man Naxx geared? 10 man Naxx Geared? Heroic? I'm curious because i'm leading a raid into Ulduar 8PM EST.Posted 04-17-2009 at 11:08 AM by Sillybones

The way my guild got the colossi was that we split them. Kited one with a healer and tank down toward XT not all the way down but far enough away so that the stuns and debuffs don't stack. Around 60 yards or so. Have all dps on the other mob burned it didn't use any CDs. then have everyone go to the other mob and burn that one as well.
Note: When you switch mobs it could be helpful to switch tanks as well to manage the debuff. Haven't tested the timer on the debuffs though so this is a moot point in the fact that it isn't solid info.Posted 04-17-2009 at 03:30 PM by Marashangdi

Sillybones, most of the raid is 25 man geared going into Ulduar 10.
Thanks for the help Marashangdi, I will suggest that to the guild next time we encounter the colossi.
We failed at Kologarn/Council last night, I was on the bench for it so I don't know the details though. Hopefully when I get a chance to go it will be better =)Posted 04-17-2009 at 05:08 PM by Ferag

Well then, I will be sure to suggest bringing in CC and using it. I had heard you needed CC, but until past XT-002 we couldn't (I think) CC anything. Now we know! And knowing is half the battle.Posted 04-19-2009 at 07:54 PM by Ferag

Just think of it as TK/SSC trash again.
We roll with 4 mages, so the trash on the run up to Iron Council becomes much easier at that point
