...help me decide!

I am currently battling between whether or not I should return to experience the epic Wrath of the Lick King expansion. Well, let's get into the reasons for not coming back...

I will be leaving for basic training on November 4th thus out of action in the digital world for at least two months,
With basic training, I will be at least two months behind but that's not so bad as catch up would still be fun,
Being sucked back into the game hardcore which will be unlikely if I can manage time and other things perfectly which is what I am currently doing,
Chances that those that I play with will have stopped playing or have gone MIA due to lost contact from being gone for those months.

Now the reasons for wanting to come back...

Experience new content (PvP primarly and maybe the 10-man raiding side of things but on a limited raiding alloted time) and continue an enjoyable experience,
Save money, in the grand scheme of things, by playing and not going out as much and spending money just to pass time or sitting on my ass watching something on TV to the point my brain isn't proactive,
Get back into gaming/WoW with old friends.

I nearly stopped playing due to the stress of raiding, lack of PvP/Arena playtime, and managing time with other things. On top of that, the new g/f hates it but I can see this relationship ending soon. Anyways, not sure if I want to preorder the expansion and have it ready when I get done with basic training and after tech school or just to give it up altogether. In the end, it's my decision but a tough one. I'd like to read what thoughts/questions others might have and even reasons they will or will not be playing the expansion.

btw, can the Collector's Edition be purchased months after the expansion goes live or not?

If your basic is anything like when I was in the Navy, there will be a ton of dead time between basic and A school (or AIT if army) that you will be sitting in some hole waiting for a slot to open up. A lot of guys got in a lot of trouble because all their was to do was get drunk and go crazy, especially after going from such a strict environment into one in which you are for all intent and purpose ignored. Just FYI if it helps you make a decision.

Well, I don't drink...at all...so that's not an issue plus I'm not a fan of bars and clubs.

	My suggestion would be to wait till after Basic and see how your time and interest works out. If you are still interested/thinking about coming back, then pick it up and give it a try. It doesn't seem wise to do a preorder when you may not even really want to play it.

	You see, if I do play I want to get the Collector's Edition and if the Collector's Edition can only be purchased before the release, I would want to get it then. Now, I wouldn't activate it until afterwards when I know if I will play. If not, I can always sell it.

Then you want to preorder the CE now. They only make so many CE copies available.
