I am going to be putting this into something more cohesive, but since the subject keeps coming up, I'm posting this. This is partly in response to the recent issues from Nihilum, as well as the announcement from Risen that they'd no longer be raiding.
Also, I'm not interested in casual players saying "I told you so!" Or any of the garbage that fills the WoW forums. If you've never raided, don't even respond unless you have something substantive, because 9/10ths of non-raiders...
So as I'm sure you've learned from my shameless TankSpot advertising, I just laid down a near-12k Shield Slam. I will try to get this to 13-14k before patch 2.4.
The record may not hold in 2.4. In fact, the reason I'm posting this is so you're aware that the record can be broken. Yes, even without the Sapphiron trinket.

UBRS and Naxxramas are the only two instances that taught me tanking. Everything else I've done has been fluff. While Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Ahn'Qiraj all brought their own imprints to confidence, raid leadership, and various other aspects of raiding, they didn't teach me mechanically.
