What Do You Do When Not Working On The Site?
Cook, eat, and play MMOs. Work on weekends. I have a YMCA membership, though I don't go daily like I used to. I take online classes for college; this quarter I'm only taking 5 credits so I can spend more time dedicated to this site and launching new sections of it.
I try to catch new episodes of my favorite television series. These would be Naruto Shippuuden fansubs and Stargate Atlantis. When Battlestar Galactica comes back, I'll watch that.
I also incessantly read news. Just about never stop reading news.
Spyglass Of The Hidden Fleet
I use this because I don't have another Avoidance trinket (Moroes, Hydross, and Gurtogg weren't kind). The On-Use is more valuable to me than the additional Stamina from +51 Stam trinkets, as I have been an off-tank, not a main-tank, when I raid tanked.
Politics
I'll answer this question, but I'll preface it. First, I ran a political website before this. I was active in campaigns since 2000 and, with exception to the time I was enlisted in the military, I've been a campaign volunteer in every local, state, and federal election since.
The one thing I learned is that the internet is not a place to talk about or discuss politics. Neither is a college classroom. Same with religion. There are places you can do this, but those places are only enjoyable if you have a solid, semi-closed community. Though many people can discuss issues rationally, there are always people who believe in these issues in an emotional way. You can never win an argument against an emotion. People who attach themselves emotionally to these issues get wrapped up in the belief that anyone who disagrees with them is stupid, and that's just not the case. So I simply learned that and stopped letting myself worry about it.
I also believe the country and the world is generally going in a good direction. I simply do not buy into the fear people try to create over war, global warming, nuclear weapons, or various other terrible things. Yes, there is merit to most of the issues we face, but humanity isn't spiraling downwards. It never has been. The reason we remember the terrible and dark things about our past is because they were always overcome by the good things that laid the foundation for where we are now. That certainly isn't changing now, especially as cultural boundaries are disappearing with the internet.
With that said, the four candidates I'd be happy with are:
Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, John McCain, Hillary Clinton
I'm easy to please this time around. And, I'm not taking advice or suggestions, so don't post 'em, I'm just answering the question.
DPS Set for Tanks
Really doesn't matter if they have a DPS set or not. If I don't want to DPS, I won't pick up drops for it. If I don't want to PVP, I won't pick up drops for it. Play the game to have fun.
With that said, if the guild wants you to have a DPS set and expects you to perform that role, yes, you should have that gear, just so long as you respect and enjoy the guild. If they're going to enforce it, a DKP discount would be appropriate, so long as other off-specs get that discount.
Pre-TBC T3 & Thunderfury
Dreadnaught and Thunderfury, along with personally accomplishing Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Ahn'Qiraj and Naxxramas to get to that point, are something I wish I could go back to.
You may not know this, but I quit the game shortly after TBC launched, because I was so burnt out on the new raiding (and for making sure I didn't fail difficult college courses). I did come back to the game, but I have not been happy with raiding in WoW since Burning Crusade launched. Wrath of the Lich King may revitalize me, and I'm hoping it will, but as of now the only reason I pay my subscription is because I love tanking and being a Warrior, not because I find raiding fun.
And, hello from across the bridge. University Place.

| | Very interesting politics answer. You can't win an argument against an emotion--very concise and elegant quote! We'll all be easy to please this time around since we're guaranteed to NOT have the status quo. ![]() |
