Sunwell Plateau Day 1

We only got to spend 1 night in SP this week. We took Tuesday off to play with the new content, cleared BT Wednesday and Thursday, and that only left Friday for us.
First impressions...
The dungeon design is gorgeous. I'm rarely exposed to any outdoor Blood Elf architecture and it's a nice vibrant change. It's also all classified as outdoors, so mounts ho!
The difficulty scaling is pretty intense compared to any other dungeon in TBC so far. The first thing that hits you is how difficult the trash is. BT trash was a joke when we started it, and it's an even bigger joke compared to SP.
The first room starts off with a single pull, and a couple of group pulls. Nothing major. The second room is where the difficulty gets ramped up quite a bit. Remember the scouts from Zul'Aman? They're back, except they bring a group of about 6-7 with them, and if they don't die fast enough they also bring a protector which chain lightnings the entire raid. Not just any chain lightning but one that doesn't have a range so you can't just pick it up and off tank it. We spent a good 90 minutes wiping on the first scout pull but we had a ton of fun doing it for some reason. Everyone was in good spirits.
We finally figured out how to do the pulls properly without an insta-wipe, and 2 hours later we were staring at Kalecgos.
The fight is pretty straight forward. Tank, spank, win, amirite? Well, I would be right if the transitions were like a delicious cake. It's more like a mud cake. Unplesant for everyone.
Anywho. After a couple of attempts, the rotations became a lot clearly. By the 5th attempt we had him to 50%. By the 6th attempt we ran out of time but had managed another 50% wipe. Things are starting to click. Another solid night on him and we'll have him down.
So far it's been very challenging compared to anything else we've done in a while. And not stupid challenging like random Doomfire, but more like Naxxrammas challenging. It's pretty satisfying.

| | I like that it's more coordination-based as opposed to most of "difficult" BT fights, which were more situational awareness-based. Anyhow, good luck. |

| | The trash reminds me of what naxx was, hard. I think sunwell is an awesome instance and it's just he beginning for those who didn't get on the PTR. My guild is newbie and only just killed illidan 2 weeks ago but they do want to get to sunwell =p so we gave the trash a try which we managed (with saps!! :s) and it was an off day.. |

| | I don't mind challenging trash so long as there isn't too much of it. Because we spent most of the time wiping and learning the trash, I have no idea how long it should clear to the first boss. Should go much smoother this week with more days spent in there. BT trash is nice. While there's a ton of it, you can chain pull it because it's easy. |
