In less than 40 hours I will be on my way home from my local EB store with my midnight launch copy of Wrath. I'm not looking forward to standing outside at the strip mall in 0C (32F) degree weather, but this is why Canadians invented toques. And there's a Tim Horton's 100 feet away from the EB. Score.

But even though I've got less than 40 hours to go, I still don't know what my main will be for Wrath. I played a DK extensively in beta and I enjoyed them immensely. I enjoyed them so much I actually never bothered to play my warrior on beta, and I had decided I was going to reroll DK for Wrath as a Frost tank.

So back on live I started preparing. I gathered up ALL the materials to get to 375 Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, and Cooking. I gathered a crap ton of items needed for quest turn ins, BOE upgrade items, consumables for power leveling... I was so prepared. It took a collective 3 bank alts, plus 2 full tabs of my bank alt's guild bank to house this metric fuck ton of stuff.

Then 3.0 hit. I looked through the prot talents, and while they all looked good on the surface, in action they were amazing. I've never had so much fun tanking as my warrior before. So here I am now, less than 40 hours until midnight launch, and I have no idea what class will be my main.

The more I think about it, the closer I get to a definitive plan. Right now, I'm going to hop on my Deathknight (Steag) and power level him to 70. Still not 100% sure after that, but I will likely keep leveling him right up to 80. The goal is basically to keep both my tanks semi-equally geared. Thanks to the 10 man counterparts to the 25 mans, that's entirely possible. Another reason for the DK right now is because we are sans Enhancement Shaman and I can cover one of their muchly needed buffs.

Of course, who knows what'll happen. I might change my mind tomorrow morning, and then again while waiting in line at EB, and perhaps once more on the drive home. I'm so hopeless.

    Eww.....tough call.

I have been adamant about going back to tanking in wrath and its caused some hiccups but over the past few weeks I've been tanking alot of pug raids and the folks wanting me to bring my mage are changing thier tune. I finally feel like I'm back now to being a tank and I'm not afraid of anything.

I'm in a similar situation. I know I'll be leveling the DK to 80 first, but the warrior will likely follow close behind.

I had a similar experience. Leveled a DK to 80 on beta, 3.0 hits and my warrior who has gathered dust for a year or so became much more fun than he ever was before.

I couldn't figure out what I wanted to level either. However, since I didn't decide I was leaving my guild until last week, I was basically left with a short time before wrath launch. Lore said he'd take me as either class, so I went with the DK. Unfortunately, that leaves me little time to farm and get a 61 RAF buddy to ding me to 60 outside the DK starting zone.

    And Steag? You caupycat!

Right now, we're missing an Enhancement Shaman, but we have a blood DK, and I'd be tanking as Frost anyway. So that's partially why I'm considering DK over Warrior right now for the 25's. A pet can cover sunders easily enough.

Yeah, I'm terrible with coming up with names. I've been trying to come up with a good name for my DK, which will be a female belf. I might just stick with ttocs, because I dont have much time before I get started on wrath.

Theres also more to the name, and I might actually blog about it.

I unfortunately wasn't able to try a DK, but I'm really looking forward to it. However, I'm going to put off starting one until at least my prot warrior hits 80, and maybe my fury warrior as well. Prot's just been amazing, and with the recent reduction in TG's penalty, I'm willing to give fury a shot, even though the rotation's not all that great.

The only replacement for sunders is Expose Armor from rogues, a pet's armour reduction stacks with Sunder/EA but doesn't stack with Faerie Fire.

I'm levelling a DK to 60 to get the story out of the way but I'm too attached to my warrior to put him aside for too long 2700+ Achievement points and I'll be damned if a new class will distract me from going on!

Acid Spit definitely doesn't stack with Sunder Armor as they are both considered Major Armor debuffs along with Expose.

The minor armour debuffs that don't stack with each other (but will with the previously mentioned) are CoR, FF. and Sting.

There's a Raid Composition Tool up on MMO Champion to make things easier.

Doh. Thought at some point the only pet armour debuff was the Sting.

I'm not well-versed enough with hunters to know how much of a personal DPS loss it would be to use a Worm pet instead of anything else but I guess the gain in raid DPS is fair, if you really don't have a warrior or rogue in raid with you

In the same situation as well, still not decided between DK tanking or Warrior tanking. DK Dps seems fun as hell too. So does Warrior Dps. Damn...

Tough call. I entertained the idea of leveling a DK a couple of times, but being a one thing at a time person I decided it would be best left to an alt at some point. Good luck
