invading ur countries.

I live in Canada, and am currently engaged to some yankee boy I met through Warcraft. Go figure. We filed paperwork back in May to bring me over, and after 5 long agonizing months of waiting the paperwork finally came back approved today. <insert huge grin here>

I still have to wait on my package to arrive in the mail and go through some interviews in Montreal, but I could be on the road as early as January to move all my junk out there.

Plus I also got paid today. I believe I shall now go do a small victory dance, and then gank the last piece of pie in the fridge.

I know. >_< Though really, I'm rarely sick so I never notice that we have free health care anyway. The provincial health care doesn't cover anything along the lines of dental or eye care, and I don't have a plan at work, so I pay for that all out of my pocket.

Not sure how much vision and dental cost in Canada....but our family health plan at work just increased to a modest $958 a month >.< Yeah I had to shop elsewhere, insurance is ridiculous....end rant....

Oh wow. $958/month is pretty ridiculous. I assume that's multiple people on that family health plan, not just one.

Dental and Vision vary depending on where you live I guess. I had check ups in both this past month. Vision was $130, and another $160 for a 2 year supply of contact lenses as I had just run out. My prescription changed so I still need new glasses as well. Teeth cleaning runs about the same at $130 (don't know off hand because I have to go back tomorrow for fixes and she said I could just pay it all then). So it's really not too bad. I rarely get sick, and have never been hospitalized before aside from day surgery for my wisdom teeth and my knee reconstruction. Of course those were almost 10 years ago when I was 19, so I was still covered under my parents.

The fiancee just got a job with CRAB, and while it's only contract currently, there's a possibility of it becoming full time, in which case he'd get benefits as well. And hopefully I can get covered there as well.

    Congratulations!

Although the name of the company your fiancee works in disappointed me. I wanted something with shellfish.

It all depends on the company you work for and what they offer for insurance. Full medical/dental for myself and my son is about $130 a month. It was about the same with the last company I worked for as well.

I'm not a big seafood eater to begin with. However, if he had gotten a job with someplace called TACO and there was no Mexican food to be had, I'd be very disappointed.

If I remember right, you're going to Washington state?

All rain. Oh, and Cider is rumored to be there. But apparently Lore cut his tongue out, so he's incapable of speaking outside of Podcasts.

Indeed! We actually live in Redmond right now, but it's likely we'll move back across the bridge to Seattle to be closer to where he works.

And yes, I know Cider lives over there, and he said there were no good places to eat. Pfft. So wrong!

958 was for myself, my wife, and one child. And Mexican food in Washington state is an oxymoron. Its about the equivalent of buying Chinese food in South Texas, looking around, and realizing that there is not one Asian person in the entire building.

Yeah, but where I come from there's virtually no mexican food. The best mexican food you can get is buying an Old ElPaso kit and a pound of ground beef at the grocery store.

XD Hey, I'm getting ready for my move! Everything is all in pounds and ounces down there. 1 pound = 0.455 Kg.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Seattle area. By the way, Seattle is a giant maze of one way streets and bad drivers, probably designed by Anthony J. Crowley as a prank. Still a fun place, though. Personally, though, I'd rather move to Canada, because I heard a rumor that they have really green grass.

For a second I almost went "Yeah, you should have seen my front lawn this summer with all the rain! It was so pretty." and then I realized what you were talking about.

Personally, I don't know, but I call my sister's spare bathroom The Pottery Barn for a reason.
