Game On!

Progress, my spice of life. Whether it be new boss progress, new gear, getting over that roadblock boss in a heroic - I love it all.
I left my old guild to start tanking again, and founded the guild <Placebo> with a dozen people I have known going on 2-3 years in WoW. I love these people, we have so much fun, and for the first time in forever, to steal from the carebears "Sharing is caring". We're passing around tradeskill mats to get each other thru rough spots, farming mats to get everyone going, grouping up for anything and everything we can, and it is awesome.
On the part of improvement that involves wrapping yourself in new gear, I am making some decent progress. Last night I broke 23k unbuffed hp @ 523 def, and I can almost taste the cap. We're going to attempt to run Naxx this weekend with a few of the people we've met leveling and/or are old friends with no access to it, we'll see how it goes, but I think I can hit 25k unbuffed and defense cap by them - wish me luck /grin.

Nice! I'm looking forward to those gear/stat milestones and pushing above certain thresholds in perparation for raiding. I'm still short of wholesale gear replacement at level 74.5 but I have two nice items sitting in my bank for when I ding.
Its a sort of mini game making those decisions, picking which heroic to focus on, which item to craft, balancing the costs of enchants and gems, etc. Sure, these lvl 75 pants are an upgrade but are they worth an armor kit when I'll knock out 76 and 77 this week?
Inching up still clinging to T5/T6/badge gear. 19K having tossed in some cheap level-up gems from my JC. my Def sucks but the crafted stop-gap items will fill that in pretty easily.Posted 11-19-2008 at 10:59 AM by Horacio

I'm right there with ya Bull, progress is where it's at. Doing everything possible to be prepared to enter a tier of content is what sets a good tank--or any player--apart. Good luck on hitting that def cap!
It's cool to be in a guild that helps each other out, I'm in a similar situation with a group of guys who all know each other somewhat from college.
In my mind there are two ways of approaching the tradeskills issue--on the one hand you can level 5-6 toons to 80 to get access to more professions, or you can swap services with friends to get what you need.
Sure you'd probably make more gold having more professions available personally, but at least in the first push to get leveled up and get through naxx/mal/sarth it's awesome to be in a tightly-knit group where you can share and help each other out.Posted 11-19-2008 at 11:26 AM by Halandir

Minor update - I hit def cap last night. I would TOTALLY suggest taking Wyrmrest to revered, the cape, boots and chest were all very nice upgrades. Then Argent Crusade to honored replaced the pants. Gonna sit on Argent til helm chant, and then decide where to go. I am currently wearing only two pieces of my level 70 gear, which is kinda awesome as well.
