RNG what have I done to you?

What has the rest of the tanksquad done to you? Why are you set on only dropping the tank gear that has block rating?

Next to Friday's raid being cancelled and doing quite okay on Sunday we of course saw no Titanguard, no Cloak of the Makers, no Heart of Iron, no Leviathan's Coil, Platinum band of the Aesir or anything else I would so much like to get my claws onto. If you'd look to the chawrts you'd think I'm hoarding lootpoints as if I were a rodent getting ready for winter. Truth of the matter is that there's simply nothing dropping that's on the wishlist. So far I've looted 4 items in Ulduar, bought one with badges and got shiny new deathdealers through a bit of gold.

To make matters worse - I could have looted the bracers from Flame Leviathan, however a lagspike, overflowing chat and slow reaction speed from my side made sure the item got sharded. Awesome, but my own fault, completely.

This reminds me of raiding Karazhan with my hunter. With my not so very flashy community struggling to make the transition to 25 mans I was stuck in Karazhan for nearly a year… It took about that year to run the community to the ground, but 2 weeks before that happened I finally got the Sunfury bow of the Phoenix… Which I replaced on my trial with my new raiding community… I guess I had that one coming.

I still considder myself geared enough to do my job, but that's mostly because I've been filling some gaps through running the 10 man version of Ulduar. Incidentally some things do drop in the 10 man version…

Either way: BURN RNG, go die in a fire.

Yesterday one of our deathknights completed his Thunderfury. He's been quite lucky on the bindings… I hope I'll get that done someday. For the last year I've been trying off and on to get them, perhaps I can, perhaps not. Who knows ey? I just think it is one hell of a questchain and well, it is a pretty decent looking sword… Also, it was pretty cool to face Thunderaan in Silithius… Even if these days it takes about 5 people to get it done.

In other news I've been playing my deathknight a little, completing my first VoA and such, while tanking the adds. Had a couple of panic moments but most of the time it felt remarkably controlled and fun. I've been running some heroics and well, I'm hoping to get some naxxramas drops and such before my holliday. Now I'm lacking a lot of gear still but I feel I am completely lacking that burst threat I came to expect in aoe situations from Deathknights. Now I haven't studied DK tanking the way I've studied warrior tanking. I'm not completely lost where it comes to abilities, but I'm not sure on my rotations the way they are. If anyone could point me to a good place to read up, feel free to do so!

I am counting down, 10 more working days before I am off for 3 weeks. That'll be the first time in years I'm going to be free from work for that long. We (as in my girl and me) are going to roadtrip trough France, starting at the mont St. Michel in Normandy and then working our way down to the mediteranean coast. To be honest I don't really think I've ever been looking forward to a holliday that much. The plan also includes not playing world of warcraft for that period of time - I'm thinking that's a healthy thing. In the holliday I'm hoping to have some good conversations about where to settle (frequent readers might remember we're needing to 'pick' a country to live in).

Hmm… Well… Things are set in motion, and we'll see. *nods*

Be well,

Aethelas

I have yet to see a Heart of Iron, and I think we have downed Iggy about 9 times now, otherwise I have been pretty lucky on drops. On the 4th of July weekend we ran Ulduar25 with some pugs to fill spots and used /roll to be fair to our guests. I was sure the Heart of Iron would drop and I would lose the roll but it didn't.

the two sources i most often reference are ElitistJerks.com and Tankspot. Just don't make the same mistake as me. Check the dates of the post to be sure the info is current with 3.1 (or 3.2 when it hits).
