Yesterday our guild was pretty much bored. The GM had been out for the night, gruul and mag were down. Ssc and Tk was for the most part done. Soooo I took 25 online folks, Mainly casual ranked members into Hyjal.
We initially just went in to kill trash mobs. I even made it a point to announce that it was just that, playing around with trash mobs and nobody should be getting wound up if we wipe alot or complain about a repair bill.

One of the very worst things I think that any one person in the raid can do is give up. In this instance an example would be guilds like mine that are at the hump with Vashj and Kael left on their SSC/TK plate.
We've been going at vash for almost 2-3 days a week for 3 weeks now. Only last night did we actually get the fight to phase 3, although it was messy. Mobs floating all over, people dead etc. Our GM was lit the latter end of the night and started being coarse with the raid.

Woe is sop lol.
Our guild has some exceptional tanks. There's times that I wonder if I would have made a better meatshield than others. There's nights one of our tanks has been known to be drunk, or seemingly have his mind everywhere but the raid.
Growing from the beginnings of protection spec I've always been one to feel that I have to put 110% everynight on every instance, every group quest, since I'd be under scrutiny for every action.

When we got our first kill in SSC, my guild new we were about to walk out of the 90 percentile and dip into the smaller percentages, the guilds that actually do more than just Karazhan or Gruuls/Mag weekly.
Fast forward to killing Tidewalker and Fathom Lord both on the first nights we saw them. Or killing Leotheras on a night that we lost a chunk of guildies because of a poison tongue and subterfuged planning. My guild...

My guild Rune on Shattered Hand started out as a merger of two guilds Pathogen and Snarf.
We had alot fo rumors either from current events or from personal experiences in trade chat. We ignored them and went on with the merger.
Pathogen was now able to down bosses like Mag because of the dps and heals we brought to the table.
