A New Home

My guild recently disbanded, I won't go into specifics, however its important to note that we were going to rebuild under a new name, however a guild member rushed ahead of us and scooped up his "selected" homeys. Which of course didn't include any of us officers lol.
ANYWAYS. We ended up making a guild <Pig and Elephant> which is totally just a home for the few of us left over, that really felt after 4 years give or take per member of raiding, that we needed a breather and relax a bit.
I had away time from the game itself but it really is entirely different from being in game, but not raiding. It certainly was a good idea, the break let me relax and let the stress of raiding wash away so to speak.
But I love raiding, and sure enough I'm starting to itch again to get back in Ulduar. Between the guild splitting and now I've had many many open invitations from the high end guilds of my server. Open invitations as in "don't worry about apping, we'll pick you up now" kinda invitation. However my response has always been the same..
"I really really appreciate the offer, it says alot to how people see my ability. But I've been raiding for 4 years now, I think I'm going to take a little while to relax before hopping back in the seat."
Every reaction to my reply has been pleasant and I think they all understood. Especially with <Tyrants> I had poured in alot emotionally, especially as an officer, and because it was ran by a real life friend of mine. It was also a guild that very quickly climbed the ranks. Hell, it didn't get created till halfway through the game wide Naxx25 rush, when every guild on every server was rushing to clear it for the first time.
Yet here we were among the very top guilds of our server (shattered hand) that had been in existance for quite some time. I took alot of pride in that, to have gone from nothing, to very recognizable in such a short time. It proved that you didn't need the "prestige label" to really get things done.
Like I had said before getting off track, I want to raid again. I could have gone to one of these top end guilds, but instead I thought about the above. Even when I was in Tyrants I loved watching smaller guilds progress through things. You feel alot of pride being at the upper echelon, but I think it can't be compared to the small guild that just finished it's first few bosses in the latest endgame raid instance. "we cleared Thorim omg!" the vent screaming and cheering after that much earned boss downing for the first time.. It's great.
it's why I decided to app to a "tanking colleague's" guild. His is in that position. They arn't up there with the likes of <raiding robots> etc. But they have aspirations, they need a tank, they need some form of additional guidance or leadership, it's something I feel I can provide. Solid tanking and a sound voice. Hopefully my reward out of it is helping them to down some new bosses, to hear a crazy loud vent after it, and some joy from that.
