Naxx DPS

Posted 06-26-2009 at 09:12 AM by Thireas (Protcore!)

I DPS'd Naxx last night. I was asked if I wanted to tank it, but I'm still pretty sure I'd get crushed if I did (the whole no parry/block thing kind of spooks me, being an ex-prot-warrior). I'd like to at least break 30k HP unbuffed before I try tanking Naxx. With the Shroud of Darkness from yesterday's VH, as well as my T7 shoulders from last night, I'm at about 29.1k.

I really think I helped more as DPS in Naxx than I would have as a tank. I did about 2700 DPS overall, and was only...

Time to go FULL TANK

Posted 06-26-2009 at 08:40 AM by Sylvaneart

My last guild hardly ever let me tank. Even though i was brought in as a tank I was told to go Kitty. This was mainly based on the fact I was top DPS in guild. I was ok at first with it until I was told Cat was my main and I would have to wait for off spec to roll tank gear. Over time my tanking belief in myself dwindled. Not tanking for whatever reason was eating at my confedence.

While being a druid alows me to collect gear that goes both ways I really lost out on trinkets. None...

OT: Celebrity Deathwatch

Posted 06-26-2009 at 07:48 AM by Horacio (I'm not a doctor but I play one in Wow.)

So, as conventional wisdom goes, celebrities die in threes and this theory passed the test this week when the King of Pop stepped up in the clutch, following Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett.

Yeah, I'm a cold hearted bastard but my general distaste for the general concept of celebrity comes to a head when one of them dies. You'd think the world was coming to an end if you bothered to turn on TV last night.

Apparently, Ed was a pretty good guy. He did alot of charity...

Progress

Posted 06-26-2009 at 07:17 AM by Khue (I can tnak!)

So, we can now clear to Yogg 25 in one night. We did it Tuesday going from FL, to XT, to Kologarn, then the watchers, and Vez. That's a total of 8 bosses in one night. We took some shots at Yogg last night and it will certainly be a challenge. A full clear is within sight though, which is always rewarding. A couple observations about progress so far:
  • Prot warrior 4 piece set bonus is OP. I am now ridiculously hard to kill.
  • Ulduar takes a 9 man carry and 16 of anyone else.
  • Raid awareness

What a long, strange trip it's been....

Posted 06-26-2009 at 04:39 AM by Arethius

First off, no, this isn't about the achievement. It's about the actual long and strange trip I've had since LK dropped.

A wise person once wished me good luck in avoiding the drama that I pay $15 a month for. My hat to you sir.

For the majority thus far of WotLK I have been a member of a great guild. They ran easy stuff because it was fun and because a (I stress "a" as in singular) alt needed something from it and raids were fun. We were focused on killing...
