Raiding: A love-hate relationship

Posted 03-10-2008 at 05:04 PM by Satrina
Seems to be the in vogue topic these days, so here we go. As with Caulle, I ended up thinking this would make a better blog post. I love raiding...and I hate it.

I love raiding because I hate TV. I'll watch the hockey game and House (or record them and watch later) and that's all that's worth my time that is being broadcast right now. WoW gives me something marginally more productive to do in the time I would spend communing with the tube. At least here I am interacting with...

How do you tell if your guildies are bored?

Posted 03-10-2008 at 03:06 PM by Gehn
A question to you all...

If they will not let you know, it can be really rough to see. I can tell on a few of our members only since I know them in real life or have played other games (EQ) with them.

I dabble a lot with alts. I like to understand what other classes are like as well as see if any are better than what I am playing right now. I have always come back to the warrior in WoW.

My 2nd in command (and best man in my wedding) is completely different....

Raiding and gear

Posted 03-10-2008 at 02:25 PM by Alent
So, here we are again. Another argument about raids, time commitment and rewards. It happened in vanguard beta. it happens in EQ2. It happens in WoW. Some group never likes the balance. It gets retuned to please that group, another group complains. As an old song about a garden party said, "You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself."

For me, personally, as a druid, my needs are poorly satisfied by raids. That isn't to say I dislike raiding. I enjoy...

I Also Hate Raiding

Posted 03-10-2008 at 12:01 PM by Caulle
This is a follow up to Cider's blog post today about my own thoughts on the subject. I've read the post about Nihilum's stance on 2.4, and just today found about a similar stance from Risen.

Cider summed up my sentiments on the game perfectly really. I love tanking, I love my warrior, and I love spending time with friends. But lately I really really hate hardcore raiding.

I've also seen people's lives destroyed by raiding. One player who was a member of our raid...

Warrior vs. Paladin

Posted 03-10-2008 at 11:26 AM by Muggs
Ok, I got my warrior to level 63, and even though I wasn't prot spec'd, I decided to throw on my tanking gear to deal with some of the random elite/group quests you find leveling up in outlands. And frankly... wth, there are too many buttons as a warrior. I'm pretty good on my pally, I use 5 buttons: Shield, Consecrate, Judge, Seal, and Taunt. No more. No less, and I like it. I bust out my warrior bar: Shield, Revenge, Sunder, Thirst, Taunt. Five skills again, but for some reason, warrior cooldowns...
