And thus you find myths about paladins, warriors and druids all incapable at doing something when in actual fact its a singular case of a player gearing, using and not doing what they should.

I've heard so much of 'it' and its really annoying that people pick out a player as a class instead of the class as the player.

Some basics:
Defensive stance = 10% or a 0.9 reduction
Imp Righteous fury = 6% or a 0.94 reduction
Armor = 100-mitigation, e.g. 60% armor = 0.4 reduction

Take a large amount of damage say 50000 damage
A warrior will take 50000x0.9x0.4 at 60% reduction = 18000 -blockvalue
A paladin will take 50000x0.94x0.4 at 60% reduction = 18800 -blockvalue

For the paladin to take less damage we have to solve for -800 damage reduction via armor....

So, yes, after being stuck at phase 2 to Phase 3 transition for weeks due to loot lag, We rescheduled our raid times to give us a crack at Kael on sunday instead of Monday.

What a difference it made.
