Do guilds still have Main tanks and Off tanks?

Posted 10-04-2008 at 09:55 PM by Darksend
so last night i had an idea for my next blog, then upon waking up i totally forgot what i was going to write about.

instead, im going to right about guild structure, and to rant about even feral druids saying they can only ever be offtanks. What is an off tank? what is a main tank? Espeically come sunwell, and even in parts of BT and hyjal, most guilds need 2 tanks. I used to call myself the "main-offtank" until shadowmoon insignia dropped, months after illidan had been...

New to tanking

So, I've been playing WoW for nearly three and a half years. In that time I've gotten married, had a kid and moved into a house. Maintaining a full time (60 hours / wk) job too! I've never been a hardcore raider, but I have been through MC, ZG and AQ20 back in classic, and in TBC I've been through Kara and Gruul.

Definately not what you'd call hardcore. The biggest reason my guilds have never gotten any further is the step stone attrition: Person X joins, gets gear, moves on to further...

WotLK: Stats and you

Posted 10-04-2008 at 07:15 PM by thugthedum

Defense. Until you hit 540, of course, at which point its just contributing to on miss not just crits. Tanks don't get 20 defense free from talents; and defense in my experience on Murmur, is just harder to get. Defense was always a killer stat; it was just that before it was plentiful and you didn't need as much of it to be awesome. Over 540, defense is still worth much less than say, dodge.

Stamina / Armor. Enough said, no changes here. Just...

Gnome looking into the possibilities of a new home

Posted 10-04-2008 at 04:36 AM by Shorty
Those of you who have followed my blog will know the guild of which I was joint-MT and officer stopped raiding several weeks ago and after a 2 week break from the game I logged in last night to find that the server Wildhammer-EU is dieing, with guilds transferring enmasse. And with no other officer or ex-GM willing to lead the guild I emailed as many guildies as I could track down explaining that I am likely to disband in the next week or two

I'm really looking for any guidance...
