The last challenging ZA run is over. Yesterday we were just short of three chests. We took a conservative route and engaged the lynx with two minutes on the timer, so he sacrificed the prisoner during the fight. We'd probably have got three if we really pushed it. We're not a guild or any kind of organized raid group, just a den of late-night old-timers who play 2-3 characters each. So decent performance, well, we think.

Tonight (the patch hits EU realms a day later) we cleared Malacrass...

Why I will not raid with a Death Knight

Those that were level 60 when TBC released I think will understand this to a point... For those that did not play until after the TBC release. Paladins used to be Alliance side only, and Shaman used to be Horde side only.

When TBC hit my server, I swear 25% of the population rolled a Shaman (was Alliance at the time). Not a single one of them understood the class. Now you can argue that at that time nobody really understood any class. Other than the EJ site, there was not really...

It isn't over until it's over

Yesterday Jan'alai taught me a lesson: The boss fight isn't over until the boss is actually dead. It may look like its over at 3%, or 2%, or 1% but to assume so leads to failure.

Well, I knew that of course, but got seriously caught out. I was wearing my avoidance gear because, so far as I can tell, his damage is more like Prince. We had lost two people early on in the fight including the mage who should AoE the hawks, so it was going slow. The raid managed to deal with the hatchings,...

Most organised guild breakup ever

So, tonight I aim to complete what must be one of the most organised guild break ups ever. The guild I was a member of when I reached 60 pre-TBC broke up one night when I wasnt online and although I hadn't been in it long, I remember the confusion when I logged in wearing a grey blank tabard and all alone, so I hope that what I've done over the last week and a bit will prevent any guildies having a similar experience.

Over the last week and a bit I've spoken, via RL email, ingame...
