VP/Trinket Question

He's the quandry I'm in - I've got:

Now, I don't like the way FoA works, requiring crits to stack, it doesn't feel like it's available all the times I want it (especially after a movement/air phase or right off the pull in very specific circumstances), so I want Liscense to replace it.

But I'm wondering if if replacing Gorsik's Band of Shattering with Band of Bees would be a bigger improvement.

I can line FoA up with CS and often with Reck or DW or both depending on when in the fight it is. So while Liscenese has a higher average str, I'd be losing the compounding effect of the proc with mutlipliers.

I'm leaning towards Lisense and getting band of bees next or would the VP boots be a better plan over bees and liscense?

I know this is minutia, it's probably just barely a difference one way or another... and of course a helm or shoulders token drop makes the T11 chest jump to the head of the line, but for now, this is what I'm thinking.

Lisence / Band of Bees (or would boots be better here) / (boots unless I have the order wrong) / VP cloak / T11 chest.

When has FoA required Crit to Stack?

I'd use FoA over LtS. And you have a Blue haste ring. I know which way I would go.

Most definitely take the ring upgrade, FoA is too good to drop imo, and the ring is a huge upgrade for you.

Mis-read the FoA text - that coupled with multiple times I couldn't use it when desired... well I just got the wrong impression and it never occured to me to go double-check.

Unless I'm missing something, Band of bees (mastery/haste) is actually less well itemized than Gorsik (crit/haste). So it's just a str upgrade and an itemization push-ish (more rating, slightly less optimal stats) unless I'm missing a VP ring that's better itemized.

Actually looking at it, the cloak from 346 (hit/crit) to the VP (exp/mastery) is essentially = Ring from 346 to VP. Looking at the stats, the boots actually represent the next biggest increase (both are crit/haste and the str gain is bigger). Ring vs Cloak seems to be a push for the upgrade.

I looked around some more and LtS > FoA actually shows to be 3x the gain of any other option according to both RAWR and MrRobot.

That, coupled with the frustration I feel towards FoA's not always being up... I've decided to go (based on other drops):

LtS > Boots > Ring/Cloak. Obviously the T11 chest jumps to the top of the list if I get a shoulder/helm token drop.

the BoE trash drop boots are another option and are superior to the badge ones.

regarding your OP, i agree with others saying go for the ring instead of the trinket. but if you are going to replace a trinket, why not replace the heart of rage? it's the same proc, but at least with the fury you can line it up with other cooldowns.

I dislike FoA because I've found I can't count on the ability to use it's on-use. It seems that the stacks fall off after a certain amount of time and with all the movement phases, lower uptimes, that is frustrating to me. While lining up HoR's proc with CDs won't always be possible, it's higher uptime since it's ICD based. With a good proc-tracker, it's a little backwards, but it's like reverse-lining up of CDs.

If FoA were a pure on-use, I don't think there'd be a debate. But it's not, and a on-use I've found unreliable with high movement makes FoA unappealing to me.

I'm still curious as to why the ring is viewed as such a big upgrade? It's a 22 str upgrade. It's a 15 crit upgrade. And it will end up being what, a 9 haste, 6 mastery upgrade when reforged (or 6 hit or 6 exp or whatever).

With kings that's 24str, 15 crit, 9 haste, and 6 mastery.
