View Full Version : Shaman Enhancement BiS weapon is....A CASTER WEAPON?!?!?!

***This thread is no longer valid. Dual Agi weapons are the way to go (thanks Ion). Please visit http://www.elitistjerks.com/f79/t113391-%5Benhancement%5D_bis_gear_set-up_discussion_4_0_onward/ review the new BiS. Thanks.***
Yes, it's true. If you want to see your DPS shoot up by 200 dps, SLOW caster MH is still the best even after the patch drop today based off of current simulations. The only difference now is to have WF instead of FT because of the nerf. I don't know why, nor will I waste a roll on something that will improve my fellow casters DPS(unless they all don't need it. >:) ). Sim it out in EnhSim to find out the best combination. If you find out this information is wrong, please post the details. Most of us are wanting our Agi weaps back and to make sure this information is accurate.
Confusing post is confusing: BiS enhancement main hand before today's patch was a caster weapon with FT on it (double FT with a slow, hard hitting offhand for max LL damage). This is no longer true with FT being nerfed and WF being buffed.

Exactly, hence the part where I said "still the best". However, slow caster remains higher DPS even with the patch dropping. I know they gave it a buff, which is what I said above. If this is wrong, please provide the stats. I don't want to roll on it, but all my sims are coming out with it still on top, even after the patch.
They're still close, yes...but "shoot up" doesn't really apply to 200 dps. And it depends very much on your gear, and certainly isn't BiS for everyone. And definitely WON'T be BiS if you have access to a 372 MH. Less if you're an orc (which you should be) with a fist or axe (which everything is, basically).
So...sort of kind of maybe trueish for you, I suppose...but not generally and not by much even if it IS.

More DPS is more DPS, but I still don't think it warrants an enhancement shaman taking the caster weapon over another class right now. You are right, it's minimal.
When I said on my first post "Sim it out in EnhSim to find out the best combination. If you find out this information is wrong, please post the details. Most of us are wanting our Agi weaps back and to make sure this information is accurate.", I assume that made it clear to people who use the program. I guess not.

I just want this to be an informative post. I want to be wrong on the numbers, so please if you have some hard data please post it.

This is a great place to bookmark. This should clarify many things about where Enhancement is going for this patch. Enjoy.
1) You're trying to link to http://elitistjerks.com/f79/t113391-%5Benhancement%5D_bis_gear_set-up_discussion_4_0_onward/ which isn't really the best thread to link to (since 99% of enhancement shaman won't be in full BiS), you should probably be linking to http://elitistjerks.com/f79/t110295-%5Benhancement%5D_unleashing_elements_cataclysmic_ discussion_updated_4_0_6_a/ instead.
2) The BiS setup is, as I said, dual agi axes.

This is a Weapon BiS discussion(which does confirm your dual agi weapons statement). The link you posted says this:
Reason for this thread:
This initial post is intended as a comprehensive overview for the Enhancement community. It is not a BiS list.<---
Obviously, your link would be best for a "How to be an Enhancement Shaman" post. Not this one.

Glad to see this isn't the case.
