I have been having problems holding aggro when there is 5k+gs in party and some times even 4.8 or 4.9. I have been tanking for quite sometime now and i was doing avoidance tanking but have gone to mitigation and it has help a little but still some problems holding aggro any tips that I need to know about. fyi am so sick of 5.9 and 6k DK's getting in group and saying i suck.

here is my spec atm http://www.wowarmory.com/talent-calc.xml?cid=2&tal=0000000000000000000000000055005135203142301333 01230155030000200000000000000000

Try a spec more like this:http://www.wowarmory.com/talent-calc.xml?cid=2&tal=0000000000000000000000000005005135203102311333 31232150230221000300000000000000 (http://www.wowarmory.com/talent-calc.xml?cid=2&tal=0000000000000000000000000055005135203142301333 01230155030000200000000000000000)

It will help significantly to have proper threat talents such as Touched by the Light, Crusade, and Improved Judgments. The lack of that last talents means you can't be doing the prot pally's 969 rotation, which is the proven best threat generation method. This vid seems to be a good summary of the process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN01YEwraMw&feature=related

I'm sure the linked spec was supposed to be this one (http://www.wowhead.com/talent#sZV0tAbuMusIufdxfMzbc). If you're only running heroics, you could switch the 3 points in Divine Sacrifice/Divine Guardian to Reckoning for a minor threat increase. Your build is, as mentioned above, missing several key threat talents.

No it isn't. It's definitely the rotation that should be recommended for single target encounters, but not because it's absolutely the best threat - but because it's the best threat rotation which doesn't sacrifice Holy Shield or Judgements of the Just uptime.

If the OP is losing aggro on packs of mobs in heroics (which isn't specified one way or the other, so we're left guessing) then it's more important to get some burst up-front threat on mobs that will be dead in 3-4 GCDs.

I'm sure the linked spec was supposed to be this one (http://www.wowhead.com/talent#sZV0tAbuMusIufdxfMzbc). Nope. I linked my spec; aside from Vindication, any of the row three talents are reasonable places to put those last three points.

No need to confuse the OP though. If he's not doing his 969, he'll go far getting the essential spec and rotation down first, and can learn the finer points afterward. Gotta learn to to walk before you run.

Nope. I linked my spec;

I think there's been a copy pasta error which is confusing things. Double-check the link in your post - you've just linked the OP's spec back to him.

You're right, I didn't reset the link. I normally use the wowhead talent calculator, didn't notice the "link" button. Fixed the link in my first post, should show a proper 0/53/18 now.

Stupid pasta. That's what I get for posting three hours past my normal bedtime.

Duuuh you don't have touched by the light, no wonder your threat stinks. Im guessing you just missed it, go 2 tiers before the final talent in the prot tree and look at the left talent and read it carefully, you should not be doing any seriouse tanking without it.
