Hi,

I'm a warrior tank currently doing Sindragosa on 10 man and going to Professor Putricide on 25 man, planing on finishing off ICC 10 and trying ICC 10 Heroic. (did the gunship).

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Frostmane&cn=Tugavelho is my armory link.

As I've read in these forums and other reliable sites like Elitits jerks, I've been stacking Stam and building an EHP gear set, now, I have some spare gear and as I'm aiming for heroic raids I'd like to start building a second gear set.

My first doubt is if I should go for a avoidance set or a resistance set (and which resistance, I think frost, not sure.).

My equiped gear and EHP set is (only relevant pieces of gear):

Gauntlets of the Kraken: http://www.wowhead.com/item=50978 iLvl264
Cataclysmic Chestguard: http://www.wowhead.com/item=50968 iLvl264
Ymirjar lord's Pauldrons: http://www.wowhead.com/item=50846 ilvl251
Santified Ymirjar Lord's Legguards: http://www.wowhead.com/item=51216 iLvl264
Boots of Kingly Upheaval: http://www.wowhead.com/item=49907 iLvl264

My spare pieces are:

Ymirjar Lord's Handguards: http://www.wowhead.com/item=50849 ilvl251
Ymirjar Lord's Breastplate: http://www.wowhead.com/item=50850 ilvl251
Spaulders of the Blood Princes: http://www.wowhead.com/item=51383 ilvl251
Pillars of Might: http://www.wowhead.com/item=49904 iLvl264
2nd Boots of Kingly Upheaval.

I use Rawr but I'm not very used to it, basically I use the defaults, which is scaling for mitigation, and I upgrade from there.

I'd like help on which type of second set to get, and what pieces of gear to look out for in sight if that second set; As I'm only doing ICC normal for now, Markls of Santification are a very rare good ( my Santified piece was a very lucky drop in VoA ).

I'd like also any good pointers you are willing to share with me since I like to understand why I do things.

TIA

P.S. sorry for the spelling errors.

Don't bother with an avoidance set in ICC.
What you will mostly want to go for is a armor EHP set for fights like Fester and a 50/50 EHP set for fights like Sindy.
Although resistance gear is useful, you can certainly do it without. But I would suggest to get the Onyxia ring from 25 (and 10 if you want more res) because it's a nice overal damage reduction.
I don't know what Trinket options you have, but I suggest dropping CTC, it isn't that great. Black Heart or the Glyph from triumphs are good EHP trinkets, Unidentifiable Organ is even better should you be lucky enough to get one.

Thank you for your advice, I got the Glyph from Triumphs last night and dropped CTC, I also have the Black Heart. I'll try to get the Onyxia ring and hopefully the organ will drop some day.

IMO a brewfest trinket is better thank Black heart. I would suggest any type of stam trinkets for sindy that you can get. CTC is pretty bad and yes even glyph is considered better.

What WarTotem said, basically 2 EHP sets, one focused on more armor, 2nd focused on balance between armor and stamina. I only swap ring and trinket to change my set, as I don't have much gear available.

Other than that, I would consider swapping your shoulders enchant to PVP one, because you have a lot of defense anyway. On chest I'd suggest +275 hp enchant and +240 armor on gloves. Also, +10 stats gem is for dps, not for tanks. To activate meta gem, take +dodge/+sta and put it into head item to get +12 stamina bonus. Other gems / enchants seems fine.

I would never recommend the brewfest trinkets.... ever. Keep in mind that Sindra is parry hasted, so an armor trinket on this fight is not a bad idea, as it is never the frost breath alone that kills you, it is the frost breath, melee, parry haste that does. An armor trinket here could potentially save you.

+dodge/+sta

I am not a fan of +dodge gems on warriors. I would recommend either Expertise or Agility to activate the meta.

For Sindy, there is no good reason not to equip the crafted frost resist pieces. They won't hurt your stats that much and will make your healers' lives much easier. They are also pretty cheap and easy to get.

I swop AV and stamina, but otherwise, my alternative gearsets are based around maximising threat. I have a raid threat set, which swops a weapon, trinket and a few other pieces to get exp + hit capped (it also has armsman on gloves). I have a heroic 5 man threat set which swops everything possible to maximise dps subject to remaining uncrit and around 35k health. And I have a PVP prot set which is mainly PVP gear but with a few choice pieces of 264 gear to add more survivability and expertise.
