http://www.wowhead.com/item=51895 These drop i snag them cause noone wants them i put the same gems in them

For Shoulders i am using http://www.wowhead.com/item=50003 with 2 30 stam gems and the 30 stam 15 resil enchant

These Drop and i snag them and start to play around with my gear http://www.wowhead.com/item=51847

and i am having trouble deciding the best combination here is my wow-heroes link

i am using a slow DPS weapon just for threat purposes but was told i should be using a SP wep if i wanted max threat but that seemed so outdated any input would be greatly appreicated

The legs can be switched depending on how you find your hit and expertise fluctuating from the rest of your gear; however, the correct answer is "Pillars of Might", which are better than both.

For the shoulders, I'd use the Boneguard Commander's Pauldrons because they're the better survivability option. It's really a threat vs. survival choice there, so it's not a fair comparison. However, I don't make gear choices based on the threat stats, because you shouldn't need them to hold aggro. Is your slow DPS weapon *necessary* to hold threat, or just for the benefit of the higher DPS?

Whoever told you to use a SP weapon is clueless and you should probably disregard any advice they give you from now on. This isn't TBC.

i just dont like being hella under the hit cap 4.54% hit with neither the hit shoulders or the hit pants on and that seems really low to me and i dont like it

Why do you not like being below the hit cap?

Why do feel you need to be at the melee hit cap as a tank?

This forum is chock full of threads filled with discussions, and the math to back it up, on why it is not necessary to be at eight percent melee hit or twenty six expertise as a tank.

The heroic ten man shoulders, despite the hit, are actually more EH than the 264 Bone Commanders Pauldrons, because of the two blue sockets and stam bonus. Use those and get the pillars of might crafted would be your best set up.

Slow one handers are best for threat, but are of course lacking on survival stats. Spell power weapons have been terrible for tankadins ever since patch 3.0, leave them to the casters.

Spaulders of the Blood Princes (http://www.wowhead.com/item=51847) Have a parry socket bonus...Boneguard Commander's Pauldrons (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50003) Have the stam bonus that if you are going for EH you wont gem for. The stamina on these two items end up the same when gemming for EH.

Hmm, for some reason i thought the bonus was stam. Well, if the EH ends up being the same, there is little "harm" in trading some hit rating for dodge.

While gearing for maximized EH is the best way to increase your chance of survival as a tank, and EH will always be powerful for survival, it is not necessary to be a fanatic about it with the 30% ICC buff.

The choice between those shoulders comes down to how comfortable you are with what you are tanking and how well your healers keep you up. The math states that the slight increase in avoidance from Boneguard Commander's Pauldrons (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50003) will slightly increase your chances to survive.

In short I agree.
