Greetings,

I've been Prot the overwhelming majority of my warrior career. I finally gave in and snagged a dual-spec for Arms. I've been reading a bit at EJ and I downloaded Landsoul's spreadsheet, but when it comes to gearing him up I'm at a bit of a loss.

For example, I thought that, after reaching the hit cap, ArP was the big thing to look for. But I saw a piece of advice advocating 4 piece t9, even though only two pieces of t9 seem to have any ArP whatsoever.

I'm going to post an armory link (I logged off in my "DPS gear.") I warn you, however, it is a hot mess. I stripped down to nothing and only equipped gear that was related to DPSing. Left all my tank stuff in the bags. I know that I've got empty slots, and I know that I'm not gemmed or enchanted. Like I said, I literally just logged off after buying and speccing the talents.

All the gear you see there is either stuff that was collecting dust in my bank from way back or stuff that I've snagged for my off-spec from Heroics. My goal is to first try to get him fully clothed to an extent that I can start taking him through Heroics. I would like to, at some point, have him geared up enough that I wouldn't be embarrassed to take him to a raid.

Specific questions:
1) Should I be aiming for a full set, or at least the 4 piece t9? If so, what are the best pieces to get for the 4pc bonus?
2) When I was gearing up to tank I invested in several pieces of really high quality tank-oriented crafted gear. Breastplate of the White Knight (http://www.wowhead.com/item=47592#comments), for example. I also got the Indestructible Plate Girdle, and the Saronite Swordbreakers for my wrists. Should I invest in similar stuff for DPS gear, or should I be aiming for the t9 stuff?
3) What about the ilvl 245 badge helm and shoulders for DPS? They both seem like they're pretty good. Worth it, or not worth sacrificing the set bonus?

Any advice or suggestions will be much appreciated.

2 pc t9 first, get shoulder and hands (fastest), get offset ilvl 245 helm, after that get both the ilvl 245 rings agility and str ones, than work towards 4 pc.

Personally I would respec a bit to remove, improved cleave and unbridled wrath and put points in commanding pres and then booming voice.

Thanks very much for the advice. What about the crafted gear, though, how do they fit in? http://www.wowhead.com/spell=67132 http://www.wowhead.com/spell=67133 Those two, in particular, I've been considering. The bracers seem kind of like a no-brainer to me. The chest would make it harder to get the 4pc t9 bonus, especially if I get the ilvl 245 helm and/or the ilvl 245 shoulders.

I wouldn't bother with the crafted chest, but might go for the bracers provided that you aren't doing ICC regularly. Otherwise there are decent 232 bracers that drop from the ICC 5 mans that are "good enough" until you get into ICC. Your best bet is to grind randoms as a tank (instant queue ftw) to get your triumphs for all the t9 and 245 badge gear. Run the ICC 5mans for the remaining slots and then start raiding ICC.
