** Note - I start babbling, if you don't care skip to the 'Questions' and 'Info' bold headings
Ahh TankSpot I have missed you. I previously spent entirely too much time here when learning all about tanking in the process of going through Nax/Uld/ToC/ICC with 3 guilds (first two died out, I am loyal to a fault and stay till the bitter end and am currently still in the 3rd).
With that being said I have come to the point where it doesn't seem like any further Tank theorycrafting is really required with regard to tanking gear/gems/spec/rotation prioritization/positioning/etc. We haven't gotten into Heroic ICC25 yet :( and I enjoy theorycrafting to perform at the highest level possible so I am looking into min/maxing my Fury off-spec.
Since my current guild isn't into Heroic 25m yet I figure its a good chance to have the other tanks / tank recruits learn how to play while I give DPS a try.
Questions
When does it become worthwhile to switch from 2pc + off-set over to 4pc? Only when ilvl 277 becomes available to me?
I miss a lot of slam procs due to giving WW and Bloodthirst higher priority, should I be shooting for 100% instant slam utilization?
Landsoul's spreadsheet says I would do a bit better DPS if I switch from Might of the Ocean Serpent (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50467) cloak over to Recovered Scarlet Onslaught Cape (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50470) however I would drop below the expertise softcap of 26. Even throwing an expertise gem in would only have me up to about 24, is it worthwhile to make the switch like the spreadsheet says?
Should I run 25m TOC every week for a Death's Choice (http://www.wowhead.com/item=47303) or just keep using Herkumal War Token (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50355)? DPS difference is very minimal on the spreadsheet however I tend to think the constant AP versus proc based buildup & haste may be an overall improvement using DC
Info
Armory Link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ner%27zhul&n=Squirrelnut
Fairly recent parse where I got to actually DPS for a fight: 12.2K DPS on Festergut WoL Meter
(http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/msb94gu4h7z8orjz/sum/damageDone/?s=4004&e=4196)
Known #1 priority upgrade: replace Greatness card with Deathbringer's Will (http://www.wowhead.com/item=50362) and thus allow me to re-gem many slots from ArP back to Str to remain at 100% passive ArP without wasting stats (would be an instant 500dps+ upgrade, seen 8 of them go out to MS guildies sigh)
Feel free to jump in with any comments/suggestions, etc. I very rarely have had the chance to DPS so I am badly out of practice and am open to all info. Pls don't just direct me to the Fury guide, I have reviewed it repeatedly and am more interested in people's personal suggestions/experience.
Thanks!
