Dual wield death knight off hand damage question

I'm trying to figure out how damage from the off hand is calculated.

From what I understand when dual wielding, damage done by the weapon in your off hand is reduced by 50%. After spending 3 points in Nerves of Cold Steel (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=50138) (NoCS) you increase damage done by your offhand weapon by 25%. Nerves of Cold Steel comes in to play after the 50% reduction. So taking all that into account I'm trying to figure out if I'm correct in saying the following:

Damage done by your main hand weapon = 100%
Damage done by your off hand weapon (before NoCS) = 50%

Damage done by your off hand weapon (after 3 points in NoCS is applied) = 62.5%

Is that right or have I missed something?

So if I'm dual wielding 2 Nighttimes for example and they both hit for their max. damage (605), then:
main hand damage = 605
off hand damage = 378

That sounds about right yes.
Basicly it's calculated as
weapon base damage * 50% * 125% = resulting damage

I thought I had it figured out but I read a few conflicting things elsewhere (as well as here). I've seen people refer to the damage off hand does as being 57.5%. I couldn't figure out how/why people where getting 57.5% (unless NoCS has been changed in recent times to up its damage bonus?).

At one point it says:

When dual wielding, your off-hand weapon receives a 50% damage reduction penalty. The talent Nerves of Cold Steel (NoCS) will increase the damage done by your off-hand by 8/16/25% and that value is applied after the baseline reduction, so functionally the net penalty will only be 37.5% for 3 points invested.

Which would mean the off hand does 62.5% damage. But then in a paragraph that follows shortly after it says:


Remember the off-hand weapon will do only 57.5% damage.

Since I'd seen 57.5% posted elsewhere I started doubting my interpretation of the 62.5% figure.

the 57.5% was proberly before the buff to Nerves of cold steel in patch 3.3.3

It used to be 15%, which would explain the 57.5% damage thing a certain someone forgot to update :P

And thank you for finding that, I went through to update the numbers but apparently I missed a spot! Fix time!
