There is some strange place in log near [19:48:08.693]

[19:48:08.693] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia 3998 (A: 19413, B: 1733)
[19:48:11.134] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia Absorb (19463)
[19:48:13.535] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia Absorb (23507)
[19:48:15.685] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia Absorb (20763)
[19:48:18.092] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia Absorb (27393)
[19:48:19.067] Shambling Horror begins to cast Enrage
[19:48:20.065] Shambling Horror gains Enrage from Shambling Horror
[19:48:21.617] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia Absorb (70177)
[19:48:22.051] Shambling Horror's Enrage fades

How it's possible? I can't find any CD that can absorb so much damage.

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea how that's possible. Anyone else got any ideas?

The smaller absorbs could be valanyr shields maybe? I'm not exactly sure how long it takes between shields, but I've absorbed 45k hits on LK from it. Maybe they have a few maces in the raid?

The larger absorb might be a guardian spirit or AD?

Or wait.... maybe he used http://www.wowhead.com/item=5816 !!!! :p

and AMAGAD where the hell do i get that, WTBWTBWTB

You only get 1 per character, ever. It's some quest reward. Pretty sure it drops threat tho, so I don't think it'd be a great idea if ur the tank.

If I could figure out how to use the log browser with WoL, i'd try and pick around some more. I can never get into the actual logs on that site tho, it only shows like the first 5seconds or so. I tried the expression editor or w/e it's called, but it's like you need to know SQL or something to try and milk information out of it. Wtb wws back.

Edit: Nm, I was using the Log Query and not the expression editor. Anyway, it does look like those smaller absorbs were from the legendary's proc and I think the big one was his self-rez. Right after that large absorb, a priest immediately cast guardian spirit on him.

it's probably a combination of val'nyrs and powerword shields, both of their paladins have val'nyr so I would imagine they could get some insanely high shield values dumping holy lights on both tanks, it's also not the immunity vial, he gained no buff that had that sort of a tooltip.

Most likely it is either GS or AD

Long reader, first post ;)
To make it short: I don't have an idea were these absorbs came from. I didn't use any game breaking tricks and our healers are clueless, too. I think it's bug.

Just went back and took another look it only looks like some really impressive val'anyr absorb stacking. the only way I think it could be bugged is if the val'anyr absorbs are designed to roll similar to how deep wounds and ignite works instead of stacking, also I am unable to tell if both paladins had their val'nyr proc going because you gain only 1 instance of the buff and it displays the person who first cast the shield as being the one who refreshed it, even if it was the other paladin.

Because the log browser can only display a certain number of lines I wasn't able to get to the hits at 19:48:08 and beyond, but I was able to look at :
[19:47:47.448] Shambling Horror (http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/yfovhycy1otmuug9/details/56/?s=2881&e=4022) hits Felyndiia (http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/yfovhycy1otmuug9/details/33/?s=2881&e=4022) 5970 (A: 18750, B: 1733)

at 47:39 you gained a fresh protection of ancient kings
during that time your paladins healed you for a total of 360003 healing including overheals from your two paladins, and were only hit once for 1126 by a ghoul (all of the damage was absorbed), all other hits between gaining the shields and the shambler hit at 47:47 were parried/dodged.

assuming that both paladins had thier val'anyr proc active 360003*0.15=54000.45

no bug, nothing out of the ordinary other than some impressively beefy heals.

I'm skeptical that it's accounted for by Val'anyr.

This is the time period in question (with some context before and after), showing the reapplication of Protection of Ancient Kings and the 70k absorb. To get the best view go to the queries part and delete the "all" one and add one with target "Felyndiia".

Between the aura reapplication at 19:48:03.398 and the 70k absorb at 19:48:21.617 we see (not including the 70k):

- damage absorbed on Felyndiia totaling 134198
- paladin healing/overhealing done on Felyndiia by Mogic/Ariohn of 383716

And then directly after all that:

[19:48:21.617] Shambling Horror hits Felyndiia Absorb (70177)

Val'anyr absorbs: 383716 * 0.15 = 57557. Even if we assume it's double dipping from the 10% zone aura it's still only 63313.

The only other absorb affect in the log is Sacred Shield from Ariohn.

I have seen in one of my own logs that one of my PW:Shield absorbed 12k so with icc 25 heroic gear plus T10 4pc set bonus it could be possible to absorb a single hit of around that size but not more then once every 15 seconds... I demand to know where I get an absorb ability greater then a disc priest :S

I definitely remember seeing some absorbs over 45k while tanking p1 LK heroic. I remember asking over vent wtf was absorbing that much and they just told me it's probably the mace proc, heh.

05-03-2010, 11:51 AM
valanyr procs + pw:s + divine aegis from penance and flash heals.

05-04-2010, 07:15 AM
Guess again. There is no PW:S or Divine Aegis on Felyndiia in the log as visible on WoL. Only Sacred Shield and Protection of Ancient Kings (Val'anyr).

Works at 80. I know several of the Heroic LK kills are using it.

One of the absorbs can be fully attributed to Ardent Defender.

Is that trinket really worth it at this point? I mean, when are they going to pop it? Every 6th soul reaper? There's usually enough cooldowns in the raid to handle that. I'd think most healers would want a trinket that boosts their healing throughout the entire fight, but I'm no healer so /shrug.

05-05-2010, 10:40 AM
Some guilds will strive for that last 0.01% getting old world trinkets or stacking classes for specific fights.

Some guilds will strive for that last 0.01% getting old world trinkets or stacking classes for specific fights.

I understand that, and I'd do the same. I'm just wondering if it's really worth replacing a much higher lv trinket on a fight where the the entire fight is super healing intensive, not just once in a while. If another healer pops it if the disc priest is picked up during p2, would it help a lot for infest? I'm not sure how it works exactly...

It's like a mini-val'anyr. And 1 trinket slot probably won't make or break them. So that trinket becomes an external CD to use, the more they have in raid to rotate the more its effect will be noticable.

[19:48:21.517] Felyndiia's Sacred Shield fades
[19:48:21.782] Felyndiia's Protection of Ancient Kings fades

All that needs to be said.

Also, none of the players gained the scarab brooch buff.
