View Full Version : Tanking Gear to grind for

That's me. I am grinding for a new shield. Toc 10/25. Is there gear that I can get without raiding to increase my gs enough so I could maybe get into a icc raid? Or will I have to grind Toc?
Also is the 245 triumph trinket better to use the ick's?

For the most part, your stuff looks pretty good. If you're looking for an upgrade to your shield without raiding the one from Marwyn(N) is pretty good.
As far as Juggernaut vs. Ick: Juggernaut wins hands down. The proc is much better than Ick's (it's even on the same playing field, both Battlemaster-esque trinkets. And the stamina is so much better than the dodge offered by Ick.

What about the badge one glyph of indomitable? I have the black heart. Should I just be wearing all stam trinkets?

Trinkets are something that should be looked on for each fight. A fight with all physical damage, it would be better to wear one armor trink and one stam trink, and something with mostly high magic (some type of unmitigatable damage) would be better to wear stam/stam. TBH the way your gear is coming together is looking fine, and at the level of what your tanking i'd say using your skeleton key and the black heart (the proc on this thing is *awesome*) would be fine for just about anything, but having the badge trink would at least open up some options.
EDIT: avoidance trinkets are usually to be...avoided...( you see what I did there?). I know your going to look at your dodge and frown, but remember the proper tanking math is Stam+armor=win in WotLK tanking.

EH gearing is the way to go as mentioned. I would also take Jugg's over the black heart. You should get the Glyph of indom and pair it with Jugg's until you get the skeleton key, then you can run those. On a heavy magic fight, run 2 stam trinkets, preferably the skeleton key and Jugg's (the black heart's armor proc doesn't do anything for you on those fights).
