All spreadsheets show the Agi ring pulling ahead of the Str ring. I'm not so sure by how much though (and I base this off other folks spreadsheets as my Mac can't run Rawr or Landsoul's in OpenOffice =/)

The ultimate question is, is it worth the gold to switch back to the Agi ring? (I spent the gold to switch when it was first made possible without running/checking numbers)

I switched to the str ring when it first came out, and then heard agi was better so I immediately switched back. 200g isn't much, and I'm always going to try and maximize my potential DPS.

do 1 days worth of dailies and you've got over 200g already.

But I'm trying to understand why/how. Is gaining whatever crit from 88 agility (~1.25%) > losing 63 AP (from strength. This number does not reflect buffs like Kings)

Without a spreadsheet I couldn't tell you the exact breakdowns. But these rings illustrate the double whammy that is str dps itemization (at least as Blizz insists on doing it).

1) the agility ring has 5 stats and the strength ring has 4. If you add up the budged stats you'll find that the agility ring ends up with more (1 str = 1 agi = 2 ap = 1.5 stam = 1 crit = 1 hit is the blizzard budgeting scheem as seen from gems).
2) the str ring has a lot of stamina on it. Blizzard pours stamina onto plate for dps. It's not so bad here but it's still a lot of 'wasted' points compared to the agility ring.

Budget wise, 88 agility is worth 176 ap, but of course what you really care about is if 88/92 agility + 135 ap is more than 99/103 SEP (2nd number is with the socket bonus).
