I've had quite a few people poke me about how to gear up their tank toons and be ready to pug icc. I've therefore decided to compile a few set of rawr generic profiles to help out people start their tanking career.
The gear sets below aim at two things:
1) Get you enough hp & armor to set foot into icc10 and survive it.
2) Get 5K gearscore to appease the ignorant mob
It does aim at uncrittability, it does not aim at balancing out your threat, hit, expertise, avoidance stats or whatever. These are not optimized sets but they will work in an icc10 environment, at least good enough to get you through the door. Of course i would also run ToC 10/25 to upgrade certain pieces but that's again going into a raid environment.
Since i'm not proficient in all tank classes or their little tweaks that the pros are aware of, i'm looking for suggestions to fix/improve/overhaul the sets. I'm especially totally clueless about bear gear & my paladin info is based on a real quick tour of EJ.
The sets assume you have some relevant profession maxed out (BS/Mining for plate, Skinning/LW for druids). I didnt do BS/JC combo as that's a very expensive setup that you probably cant fund if this is your only toon. The setup already includes some hefty crafting costs already.
I've included the Ulduar crafted belts instead of the conquest badge belts as they offer one extra gem slot. Same could be said of the boots (ie crafted 226 being better than 232 drop boots) but remember we're also trying to appease the gearscore crowd here too. Same could be said for trinkets (ie Ick's Rotting Thumb to replace The Black Heart). In fact i would strongly suggest getting both trinkets as unless you use Ick's you will end up slightly below 5K gs. I would still recomment using the Black Heart during actual rating.
