View Full Version : Paladin Quel Delar Lens of the Mind

With 22 agility or Mongoose or even blade ward would it be viable to utilize as a tanking weapon. The curiosity stems from the huge crit strike and spell power bonus as well as the slower swing time. Quel Delar Lens of the Mind (http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=50047) Equipped my dps actually goes up and on the test dummy auto attack with seal and with full rotation I'm seeing about a 350-500 boost in dps. I'm not certain as to this is in the increase of crits or if the spell power is in effect boosting certain spells adding to the holy damage. Just a thought and I figured I'd ask the pro's for their thoughts and speculations.
Thanks in advance.

That's odd, since the weapon dps is so much lower than any comparable tanking sword (even a few tiers back).
At a guess I'd say it's because Lens of the Mind roughly doubles your spell power. And if SP didn't matter for dps then pallies wouldn't have those talents to get it in Prot/Ret.
But I'll also let the pros show the math here =p.

Sorry bout the wall o text but I'm intrigued due to at first being totally disgusted and frustrated that Quel Delar wasn't a viable tank sword for pali's or warriors but sweet for Drooids and Dk's. They even have a mace version for drooid tanks.
