View Full Version : Feral Tank - Threat Issues

I'd like to start off by saying that feral has been my offspec for quite some time, which means that I don't have very much up-to-date experience with the spec.

So I recently started tanking for my guild in ToGC10 and ToC25, and seem to be doing fine when it comes to survivability, but my threat building is extremely sub-par, and I don't know what's causing it.
My single target rotation is as follows: FF, mangle, stack up lacerate, spam mangle whenever its up while keeping maul active for every swing, refresh lacerate when needed.
Any suggestions on how to improve my threat building capacity?

For the inital pull, hit with FF, when the boss gets on you, hit barsark (sp) and spam mangle for some added threat. Then it comes down to whats availible. You should always hit mangle when its off cool down as well as always hit FF when its off cool down. Keep Lace on 5 stacks and fill in with swipes. Make sure to macro all your abilities to activate Maul as well.

First of all, 18 stam armor kits from leatherworkers give more HP than 275 health to chest enchant.

Next, your spec if a bit off, drop 2 from furor and drop imp mangle and get master shapeshifter.

Finally, you need a new weapon, badly. Especially considering predatory strikes weapons are by far your biggest AP contributor. Reinforced Shadowstrike - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49496) Anguish - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47911) Hellion Glaive - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47329) Twin's Pact - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47302) are 4 weapons that are readily available to you, next time any of them drops pick it up. Weapons - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?items=2&filter=qu=4;ty=6:10:5:20;ub=11;cr=131:123;crs=1:4; crv=0:0;gb=1;gm=4;wt=97;wtv=100#two-hand:0-11-17+1) is the full list sorted by feral AP.

replace that agi hit gem in your legs as you are over the hit cap. also make sure to get mongoose on your next weapon.

Thanks for your great replies. Darksend's link doesn't seem to work though :(

Btw, the hit/agi gem is there because I got some major gear upgrades today, and wasn't hitcapped before, but that's changed now as you noticed.

Edit: Never mind, found the video on youtube, and thanks again, it really helped. Time to save up some DKP for a new weapon :)
