Advice on Gear sets [Archive]

Hey guys, right starting to raid a bit now and im working on gear sets for different situations.

This is what i have so far ill use the value shown in the defence stat window ingame and include my hp, any advice would be brilliant, also if i have totally got the wrong end of the stick with what I am ment to be doing please feel free to rip me a new one.

Dodge 26.26%
Parry 16.37%
Block 31.13%
max hp ub 32.5k

As u can see i hve no parry set at all lol.

any feedback on this would be great.

Your character doesn't appear for me on the armory, so all I can say is replace any dodge only gems with stam gems, replace any dodge-stam gems with parry-stam, and watch for 12stam socket bonus on your helm.

You should not be going for block at all really. If you get some on your gear, that's fine but don't itemize for it particuarly. (Though, if you plan to do heroic anub, save block pieces for your block set)

You logged in dps gear so I can't look your kit over but your spec looks pretty good overall. I'd take 3/3 focused rage over cruelty and I'd definitely take 3/3 AttT over 5/5 shield spec. Rend also has little utility as a tanking ability.

If you divide your dodge rating by your parry rating, the number should be close to 1.8. If it's over 1.8, you should go for more parry; if it's under 1.8, you should go for more dodge.

For your gems you should be using +30 stamina (Solid Majestic Zircon), +15 stamina +10 defense rating (Enduring Eye of Zul), or +15 stamina +10 parry rating (Defender's Dreadstone). You should gem for the socket bonus on +9/+12 stamina bonuses, anything else you should put +30 stam in all sockets.
