Hi guys.

I am sorry to bug you again, but I really need some advice.

I have recently started tanking and want to start tanking heroics soon. I need some advice on a good, solid build. Ideally, I want to Dual-Wield, so I am thinking frost for the specialisation? Also, what would the ideal rotation be?

I was thinking this build : Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#j0EZhxe0NbI0c0fuuAo0x:TdaVmM)

Another question, what weapons would you recommend that is easily (well, fairly, I don't mind farming) attainable? I have started to collect some gear, but I am still far under the hitcap (540?). What would you recommend getting, and from where?

My armory link: The World of Warcraft Armory (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Twilight%27s+Hammer&n=Vampdeath)

Keep in mind, I still need some trinkets, a helm and some other randoms.

for specs i would recommend
Suno's Fireside Chat - DK Endgame Tanking (Updated) - Elitist Jerks (http://elitistjerks.com/f72/t44638-sunos_fireside_chat_dk_endgame_tanking_updated/)

for dual wield specs id go to
DW Tanking Builds - Elitist Jerks (http://elitistjerks.com/f72/t40739-dw_tanking_builds/)

id also highly recommend waiting till 3.3 to try dual wield tanking, as it provides a unique set of complications with tanking in general at the moment, and forces you to gear differently than 2 hander tanking.

at the moment, i would farm heroics as dps and get badges. lots of badges. and then buy tank gear and 2 pieces of t8 with badges. should take a week if you do it at a moderate speed.

also, farm toc normal and toc heroic every chance you get. there are pieces in there that are definately decent and the trinket in there is probably the best you're going to find pre raiding. a lot of people don't realize that the gear from NORMAL toc on par is better than ten naxx gear.

weapon wise, id go with edge of ruin, from toc heroic, or marrowstrike, from toc heroic also.
or try to get into a ten uld pug, and get ironsoul.

those are about the easiest ones to get, unless you want to get the Blacksmithing 2 hander from someone if you have the mats/gold.

Thanks for your response.

At the moment we have a guild group going that farm heroics every night, so badges isn't a problem. I have alot of the drops from ToC norm already, including The Black Heart - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft (http://www.wowwiki.com/The_Black_Heart)

I have Edge of Ruin already, but I am considering getting Marrowstrike for tanking. What I need at this stage is a Helm, and one more trinket. Any suggestions?

yeah why point him to another site for help we have what ya need.
gear

may be a bit outdated with easy upgrades but its a place to start.
The dual wield spec i use is pretty strong if you wanna take a look at that. Dual wield is very powerful and gives you a lot of options that 2handers don't have. red sword of courage from up and peacekeepers blade from toc are good starters.

Now I go about my rotation in a differient mindset from others. I call it prioritizing. For example a regular single target rotation
starts off with the Icy touch pull, and scourge strike. Then you use blood strikex2 obliterate if you are speced into it. now here Is where
prioritizing comes in. As soon as rune strike is avaliable use it. Every time it is up you use it. it is very cheap and a huge threat
attack. If rune strike is not available and you have 60 or more runic power you use frost strike. If you get knocked away from the mob you
are tanking death coil is an attck that can keep threat going while you get back.

Aoe rotation is similar but a few differences. D&D to pull icy touch>Plague strike>pestalance. (at this piont your runes are all on cooldown)
Now burn of some runic power same priority as single target. For continuing aoe threat howling blast, blood boil, and D&D. however for your
primary
target keep laying in with rune strike.

Other abilities are not a part of the strick rotation but are none the less important. Horn of winter, Death chill, and empowered runic
weapon.
Death chill and horn of winter are more for dps and threat than anything else. Empowered runic weapon will instantly refresh all your runes
allowing you to react to varried situations.

Thanks for the response Swam.

I am still trying to decide between Dual-wielding and 2h, one major point of consideration for me is the hitrating required. What is the required hitrating and expertise for DW? Also, I will have to offtank Naxx10/25 to gear our fresh 80's. Will Blood, with the single target threat, be ok or would you suggest I stick to a multitarget build like frost?

I appreciate all the help you have given so far!

I prefer frost but blood is doable. hit rating is 27% for 1 handers but in reality running with 10-12% is enough. expertise is best at 25-30 but i have only 16-19 and am never have threat problems. the nice thing about 1 handers is you can use tank or dps weapons, i use one of each right now. also as an offtank you are often required to pick up the trash and i find frost is better for that.
if you do end up going blood I recommend sattori's blood guide. he knows that spec far better than I.

Thanks for the feedback.

I went with a 2hander at the moment, but only as a temporary solution until I can get two decent weapons. Aiming for Peacekeeper Blade and Red Sword of Courage.

I went with frost as you suggested, with a few minor tweaks to accomodate the 2hander at the moment.

Will you please have a look at the build I currently have and comment on it? Like I said, I had to tweak it a little bit to accomodate the 2handed weapon. The World of Warcraft Armory (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Twilight%27s+Hammer&n=Vampdeath)

Would you suggest I go with the Tempered Titansteel Helm, or should I rather buy one straight off the bat with Triumph emblems?

Once again, I appreciate all the advice greatly!
