View Full Version : Lightwell on Anub HM?

So my 10 man group has been working on Anub HM for 2 nights now. We are getting him to <10% but inevitably somebody dies to pen. cold, or a tank dies while our heals keep the pen. cold person up.

We do it with 2 heals, and we haven't had our normal paladin this week (so that might solve it right there). But we usually have a priest, druid, or a shaman at our disposal. We were trying it with the priest and druid the other night.

Could lightwell be a solution here? If the healers can normally keep up the raid and tanks outside of pen. cold, could the persons who get pen. cold hit a lightwell to help them survive? Is this feasible?

No because penetrating cold hits for 6,000 a tick, which tends to be more then 30% of peoples health except maybe the plate dps. Even then you'd have either ranged or melee dps that would have to run to it, leaving out precious DPS time on his burn phase.

Now, for 2 healing Anub, you really need to make sure your healers stick to their assignments. If a tank dies, then your tank healer is not doing his job. If a raid member dies, then the raid healer isn't doing their job. 9 times out of 10 its because they were trying to "help" on the other persons assignment. You just need to buckle down and ignore everything that's not on your assigment.

in 10 man its more like 5k...(less with resists)

If you want to 2 heal it go disc priest and paladin...Any other healing setup is going to have tanks or PC targets dying ideally you work out a way to survive with 3 healers first!

The paladin heals the tanks solely the disc priest heals PC and does holy nova in between to keep group of non-melee topped. However ideally take 3 healers which makes the set up easier but i still suggest getting a priest to go disc aslong as they know they can do it since having 1 person deal with PC makes the fight so much easier.

Ultimately assignments need to be stuck in stone as already said...

Lightwell isn't worth it not for this other tree has a spell far more useful (power word shield).

It's 3,500 in normal, 6,000 in hardmode, which is what we are talking about.

EDIT: Also, I agree with what Nicki said about the disc thing. Another thing, if you want more detailed help, would be to link a parse to your attempts, preferably from World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis (http://worldoflogs.com/)
