Hello Everyone,

This is just to follow on from my post http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f56/57619-tank-hell.html (http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f56/57619-tank-hell.html) I have provided a link to my armory as I try to build my character for tanking. At this point in time I am running heroics to gain badges and optaining my epics that way until I can get to a level where I can raid. Additionally I do not have any enchants at the moment but like I was saying, I am still building my char.

Any suggestions on a good tanking weapon would be nice. Also suggestions of good glyphs for unholy tanking would be an advanage.

The World of Warcraft Armory (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Agamaggan&n=Necroshen)

Thanks in advance.

Nec.

Build is not a good tank build. I notice you don't have dual spec, you might well want to have clear and distinct 'tank' vs 'general/dps' builds as an unholy tank spec is not much fun for other stuff. Tanks do not generally take ghoul or gargoyle. Your glyphs are just wrong. You don't even have hungering cold, why have you got it glyphed? Death strike glyph is not for unholy. Death grip glyph is for levelling up.

Here is a thread on cookie cutter specs: http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f14/57189-3-2-state-death-knight-current-specs-styles.html - it will give you advice on the talents and the glyphs to go with it.

Your gear is entry level. I don't see a single enchant on any of it. Clearly you'll be replacing a lot of it, but at least put enchants on the epic gear. Your weapon... well I guess I can see what you were thinking by picking a green with defence stats but seriously, get a proper weapon - a lot of your threat problems are rooted right here. By doing the argent tournament you can get a half decent 2 hander (Greatsword of the Sin'dorei - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45205)) to cover you until you get something better (heroic trial of the champion has 2 2handers, onyxia has one). You could get a lot of upgrades just by farming the regular ToC dungeon.

Thanks for the reply and the information. I am aware of the issues regarding my gear and glyphs and even the enchants, as I stated I am still building this char and must work hard to get the gear by farming my badges. Additionally I will enter the TOC which I have never tried before. The reason for the green sword (which I hate with a passion) is that it keeps my defense high enough to support heroics.

I have to admit I had forgotten to consider the glyphs and I should know better but thakn you for taking the time to link the cookie cutter info it will be a great help in getting my tank into a usable format.

So by the looks of things it is best that I work to a frost spec. It certainly gives me the foudnation work I need.

As far as enchants go, the only problem I find is that they are expensive. :(

Am I doing the right thing by farming badges for badge gear to upgrade?

If you read the thread that I linked properly, you will see that all 3 trees have viable tank builds. You can choose to be unholy, blood or frost. Since it largely comes down to personal preference, you should probably aim to spend time learning each to see which one suits you. I prefer unholy on my DK alt because I get on with the disease rotations and the strength of death and decay, while not especially liking howling blast mechanics. That's entirely a personal preference.

As for gear, badges is good, but ToC normal also has some very handy items worth farming for.

Yeah I did read it through thanks and I know that I prefer unholy, however I do feel that after reading said guide, a frost build will work best based on my tanking style. Thank you again for the information it has helped a lot :)
