Shoulderguards of Enduring Order or T9 (ilvl232)?

Hello,

I'm MT of a small, casual raid. I try to do the heroic daily every day and expect to get about 30 emblems of conquest from these dungeons and our raid each week. We are currently doing Ulduar (only Levi, XT, Razorscale, Kologarn and Auriaya yet) and Naxx (in case where only 9 or less).

Items I plan to get:
- Peacekeeper Blade - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47500)
- Shieldwall of the Breaker - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45707)

Now here's my real question:
I currently have 40 emblems of conquest and 42 emblems of triumph and am unsure about wether to buy Shoulderguards of Enduring Order - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47699) or rather Hellscream's Pauldrons of Conquest - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=48460)because of the set bonus.

Any criticism regarding other aspects is also greatly appreciated.

A simple and short answer is if you are going for the t 9 set bonus get the tier shoulders. They are cheaper and give a half decent set bonus of a reduced taunt cd, a better devastate, and a great buff on your shield block ability. Personally I went for the t 9 set bonus by buying all the tier pieces to get the 4 set bonus, and then went with the 75 emblem helm.

Basically if you are not crazy about the set bonus and can spare the extra emblems, go for the token shoulders as they give a bit more stats.

Thank you. I guess I should've asked another question then: Is the gain in stamina and avoidance big enoguh to make up for the set bonus of tier 9?

I'm also thinking in terms of "when will I replace this item?". According to my plans I will not raid in any group with 25 people and our raid is also not good enough for heroic modes; because of that i thought that the ilvl245-shoulders might be a good choice because there are no better shoulders that I can actually reach. But if the set-bonus was that awesome on my given level of equipment (or a level that I can reach) I would reconsider that.

You won't be getting the set bonus yet since you are 0/5 T9... maybe if you'd gotten one piece from VOA I'd consider the shoulders, but getting the extra Stamina, Armor, and Avoidance is definitely worth it. Take the enduring orders.

take the enduring order first, they are better overall for survivability, and in time when you got the emblems to spare get the hellscream ones for a threat/block set
