Quick question/Debate you may be able to help me with.

As a prot warrior would you want to go with the set bonus of T9.245, and if so which pieces would you change out for that 2 piece or 4 piece set bonus.

Reason I am asking is because although people complain about Blizzards itemization on set pieces, they would not put together a set that was incapable of tanking (or DPSing) the next set of content in.

I feel the tier sets will give you the needed amount of avoidance, threat, and effective health to tank the next set of content in, yet a prot warrior disagrees with me on that.

Yes. Tier items are nice.
But everything has its purpose.
For progressive tanking you would want to pick :

Gloves
Shoulders.

and gear your other item slots with non-set. This is to increase your TTL(timetolive)
Until you get 258 tier helm maybe. (even that is debatable)

nonset chest/legs/helm are just all really good stable pieces you would want in your progress tank set. (chest is good , just nonset is marginally better arguably. Helm/legs are basically trash/heroic gear)
