Some background: I started playing shortly after release as a rogue. I started raiding MC / Ony after hitting 60, and then did ZG briefly before I got bored and rerolled as a warrior MT on another realm. The guild I was leading there got into ZG/MC as well, but we fell apart fast and I then returned to my original realm, where I applied to a more competitive raiding guild and progressed with them through all pre-BC raids. I continued to play for about a month after BC was released, then quit until about three weeks ago. I transferred my warrior to my home realm, rejoined my old guild (which isn't quite as competitive as they once were, but I love them), and leveled to 80 4 or 5 days ago. I quickly geared up in heroics, and moved on to raids within a couple days. So far I have been tanking mostly PUGs / partial PUGs with guild alts, but want to take the next step in becoming an active tank for my guild, which is working on Ulduar hard modes and starting ToC25 now.

I haven't done as much reading on theorycraft as I should, and I have a feeling my spec is sub-par. Any and all critiques of it, of my gear (gems / enchants included) would be awesome. To explain one oddity in my gear, an enchanter gave me Blood Ward by mistake; I intended to get Blade Ward. How is my itemization (mitigation vs expertise / hit, etc)? edit -- and did I pick the right glyphs?

Where should I go from here?

Lets go with the spec. My suggestion is 15/3/53 spec.

My glyphs change all the time. The ones I currently have are for threat. If your guild is doing hardmodes, for me it comes down to threat for the most part. There are fights that arent threat intensive like freya, ic hard mode.

Lets now look at your gear. If your serious now, start farming heroics and triumph badges.

Priority should be Helm-->Trinket-->Ring-->Weapon, then saving for gear.

I try to always stay above 26 expertise for main tanking and hit.

I'd run heroics and replace the neck with the badge one.

Run 10man uld if you can and get the tier 8 shoulders for now, igniss 10man trinket.

Once you get a few better items and they can allow you in the 25man uld/normal toc it wont take you long to get there.
