I've been trying to tank Hodir hard mode and I can't seem to pull out the TPS in order to keep threat from the amazing dps :(

Can any other prot pallies give some advice and list their rotations?

I think there's a few posts regarding this already, check the Hodir posts in the Ulduar & Emalon section.

However the general consensus seems to be to use your taunts to build a threat lead off your dps. I.E wait for your ranged to hit 130% threat and then taunt off them. Boom big threat lead.

Hey there!

Drop the hands for T7.5 (first set bonus and hit instead of block) and echant with Formula: Enchant Gloves - Armsman - Item - World of Warcraft (http://wowhead.com/?item=44485)

You lack hit and expertise so many of your attacks won't make it home. Try enchanting your weapon with Formula: Enchant Weapon - Accuracy - Item - World of Warcraft (http://wowhead.com/?item=44496)

Going over 102.4% aka block-cap or uncrushible makes no sense. Drop block and itemise for threat instead.

If your healers (or Hodir) won't kill you, drop one of your trinkets for a threat one.

Hunters should be misdirecting you. Rogues should be using tricks of the trade. If there is for some reason I can't make up a warrior tank providing you with vigilance, then make him stop... :D

A well. And remember aggro and taunt mechanics...

Cheers!

Use youre Wing for making more threat when you runback.

And i remember have read a long post about this try in ulduar section.

We use a little trick to counter that mages and locks tend to pull 10k+ dps. While what we use it for is hardmode, there's no reason why it shouldn't work for a normal kill as well.

Have a mage acquire stormpower and blow all of his cd's. When his threat skyrockets, have him blow his images and announce to you (in a whisper, or whatever you use) when there's a couple of seconds left on the images, so you can be ready to taunt. After that, the mage uses invisibility.

It doesn't always work, you won't always need it, but with a little luck, you'll have a massive threat lead, without having to worry about it for the rest of the fight.

Oh and, make sure the mage isn't standing right next to hodir, or he'll get oneshot ;)

There is only one rotation. It's called "969". Anything else is just plain wrong and a TPS loss.

I respectfully disagree with the earlier poster wrt wings on the initial pull. When I am tanking Hodir, threat is usually settled firmly with MDs and ToT until Hodir is debuffed. (the singed debuff benefits you too) I want to make sure that I get to use wings twice during the fight, so no later than 35 secs into the fight, but with the most singed debuffs possible. If I can pull a Storm Power (shaman debuff) without it blowing the raids dps, why not. If that doesnt work, then there is always threat trading as referenced previously.
In addition to the other previous suggestions (armsmen for one), if you have a stamina trinket, I'd use it over the Furnace Stone.
