Hi this is my first post here and i have been tanking for quite a while. I have noticed that when i run Ulduar or Naxx i can not survive as well as some other tanks. Now i know alot has changed since WoTLK but i guess im just way off par. IM not used to sucking and could use a little help:(.

Change all of your parry gems for dodge or expertise.
Fix your spec. (I'd recommend a cookie cutter 15/5/51)
Get a real enchant (40 stam) on your bracers.
Stop comparing yourself to tanks that are geared better than you.

Enchant your chest with +275 Health
Enchant your bracers with +40 Stam

If you are going to use that defense trinket all the time swap out those defense gems for stam/hit, stam/expertise, stam/dodge or stam/defense gems. Replace all parry gems with either expertise, dodge, stam or a hybrid of stam + expertise/dodge.

I would reccomend going to the standard 15/5/51 spec as you are using a DPS dual spec, this will give you a much better balance between Threat output and survivability (this may change slightly next patch depending on the changes to block so check back here when 3.2 is released). If you don't wish to go the above spec I would advise shuffling at least some points around:

Take all points out of improved bloodrage, puncture and Iron will. None of these are worth the talent point sacrifice. Max out Improve Heroic Strike, Focused Rage and put the remainder in cruelty this at least will give you a better overall build. Personally I would also take points from imp spell reflect and place them into cruelty aswell. I would still reccomend the 15/5/51 spec, however this will at least give you more threat without sacrificing any survival.

Another option is to go with a modified 15/5/51 spec, by dropping deep wounds you would gain three talent points to be spent as you see fit, you can either drop these into cruelty, increase your crit by 3% or drop them into Shield specialisation increase your block chance by 3%. Another option is to invest these points into improved disciplines, dropping the CD on your shield wall by 1 minute (not worth it imo).

Anyway I hope this gives you some ideas on how to improve your overall tank balance at any rate. To improve you survivability I'd get some more stam gear, the trinket from H AN would be a good place to start.

ok i guess i didnt say it right i will change the things i need and i have been researching here only to find myself more confused. I have no problem keeping threat, at all. but i neeed to find out why my damage is so high. a tank who is lower geared than me will pick up he boss when i die and is able to survive longer. the healer (my wife) even says she cant figure out how it soooo much harder ot keep me alive. im at a lost any addvice could help. i will chnge the spec shortly to what was advised but im wondering if i shoull just stack satm gems in my gear or if thats just a stupid mistake. please help some more guys
