View Full Version : 225armour vs. 275health

I just received an upgrade that puts my defense at 535. I've got the 30stam/15resil shoulder enchant, so I believe I only need 537. Which enchant would you change?

Your 225 armour enchant to a +16 defense on cloak

Your 275 health enchant to a +20 defense on breastplate

I'm leaning towards changing the breastplate, since it seems illogical to enchant cloak of the shadowed sun with defense... but keeping the 275 health enchant will put me over 34k and that's fun to say. :)

Any opinions would help me decide... thanks.

PS, this is for progression tanking.

you should be able to stay crit immune with only 536 def and the shoulder enchant. I would go with 275 hp to chest if I were you.

20 def vs 275 health
20 def is higher ilvl.. more bang for your buck.

some simple figures,
the equivalent to 20 def is 30 stam.
30 x1.06(for war)x1.1(kings) = 35
so for an EQUAL value health enchant to chest, it should be 350.

generally health to chest should only be used on a MAX EH chest

i have seen way too many tanks using health to chest and then socketing for defense

Vene has a guide that may be helpful:

Should I gear, gem or enchant for defense? (http://www.tankingtips.com/2009/05/11/should-i-gear-gem-or-enchant-for-defense/)
