View Full Version : <A-US> <vodka> (US-1st Yogg) NEEDS A PROT WARRIOR

04-20-2009, 02:26 PM

Our main tank has gone MIA (we hope you're okay!) and so we have a very urgent need for another tank. This is a huge role to fill - our previous tank was exceptional and we're literally looking for the best Warrior on the planet for this position. You'll be joining (and expected to jump right in and tank for) our push towards Algalon. As such, you should know everything there is to know about these encounters - and ideally have done them both on PTR and live.

Above all, we're looking for someone who can play the Warrior class to its fullest potential. Can you charge into a boss and have aggro from the very start of the fight to the end over Mages who start channeling Fireballs as soon as the boss becomes targettable? Are you vocal on Ventrilo and can you communicate well with the raid? Do you have too many gearsets to count for various bosses and situations? A lot of our strategies depend on flawless tank play - can you perform well under pressure? Are you dedicated and reliable? Can you commit to the raid times in the post below?

If you can answer 'yes' to everything above, we're looking for you. Apply on our recruitment forum (http://vodka-guild.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11) or contact an officer (Rydya, Laynd, Huggsie) on Alterac Mountains so they can set up an interview on Ventrilo asap.

About Us

vodka is a high end raiding guild with a history of top-five U.S. kills and have been on the progression radar since AQ40. We are constantly trying to improve and are looking to fill a few holes in our roster for hard-mode Ulduar bosses. Our members strive to be the best at our respective classes and work as a team to overcome the newest and the hardest content. Guild chat and Ventrilo are friendly with good-natured joking between members. During progression raids, we push to be as productive as possible.

About You

Overall, we are looking for individuals who can fit in with the competitive and dedicated raiding core, and contribute as soon as they join while we push the bleeding edges of content.

Ideal applicants are players that know their classes inside and out. Applicants should be self motivated and be constantly trying to maximize their performance. Progression can be grueling and frustrating at times. More than anything, applicants should be able to keep going through tough encounters or raids with a positive attitude and be open to criticism (and take it constructively). Be able to explain and defend gear and enchantment choices, as well as aspects of your play. A microphone and good communication on Ventrilo is also required.

Our raid schedule is marked with many long weeks of raiding one or two nights each week, followed by a few intense weeks of raiding seven night a week as we speed through progression content. At the moment, we're in the 'intense' part of our schedule - raiding every night starting at 6:30-7pm EST, and ending whenever enough people have to leave. Flexibility during key progression nights is very important. The hours we raided to kill Yogg-Saron were absurd, and while our schedule will likely be slightly less intense as we work on encounters that are harder to zerg down, there will be days that we want to start, for example, early on a Saturday afternoon or run very late on a Friday night.

How to Apply:

Our application forum (http://vodka-guild.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11), where you will find more information, expectations, and guidelines is: Recruitment - vodka Forums (http://vodka-guild.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11)

If you have any questions regarding your application, ask Laynd or any other officers in game on Alterac Mountains and they will be more than happy to answer.
