Hello, I just need a second opinion on this pick I need to make. WoW Armory This is my current gear (Don't mind the no enchant on the feet, hasn't updated to them yet ;x.

Anyway, I can't seem to decide between Valorous Redemption Faceguard (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40581)and Helm of Vital Protection (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40328) with my current gear set. Was leaning more towards Valorous Redemption Faceguard (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40581), but would like to know what others think.

Also would it be a good idea to use my belt clip as a red gem insted of blue to get the meta going on the helm? (Untill I get an item with a red slot)

Thanks for the help, if you see anything else that may be wrong with my gear that can be changed please point it out.

This is coming from a warrior who has an undergeared almost never played pali tank sooo :)

The valorous Looks like it would be better for threat/dps and vital protection has a slight avoidance advantage. Personally I'd go with the set one if you only want to keep one set of gear. Other wise enchant/gem them for for their strengths and use them where needed.

and yes the meta will almost always give you more than 1 gem and a socket bonus will.

Seems to be that the Helm has a very VERY slight advantage over the faceguard.

Why?

That's because of the gemming.

With the metas being equal, gem the helm with a def+stam gem will give you 12 more stam from the socket bonus while also giving more def over the faceguard.

But yes, Damonvile is correct; Faceguard for threat and the helm for avoidance.

Helm for MT. Valorous for block set.
